well since i am getting old

i want to quite down my exhuast when ever i choose to but no way in hell i am going to use bolt in type they fall out they suck and i am LAZY

so i have bena thinking of this for some time but there can be down falls from it

idea

use a eletric cut out http://store.summitracing.com/partd...7;2DQTEC40F&N=700+4294865462+115&autoview=sku in the exhuast just befor the rear muffler and then drill a hole in to the plate

so whe you close it she can still breath but be quiter

i done this befor for vi's from loud exhuast and just use soup can's with holes drilled in to them and shove them up the exhuast pipe to shut the car up some and works

only down fall is find one that is not shit hope they got better over these year's

will the plate warp after driling hole ?

will it really shut up the car alot

oh ps my exhaust is 3.5 inc to 4 inc dp back to a burn's stain less muffler the 12 inc 5 1/16 one aka small one aka gonna be fucken loud

ive actually sone this before way back in 2000. I too was afraid of the plate being warped so i disassembled the whole plate. I got a drill press and got a peice of 2 x 6 inch would to set the plate on top of. I used a four 1/4" holes. two on top and 2 on the bottom.

Drove the car around a there was a substantial difference in volume and power. im trying to save up money to do this with my exhaust but times are tough.

Does anyone know if the QTP or the Summit Electric cutouts are durable? Ive heard that the motors on the QTP Electric cutout's tend to go bad after a while.

what happens most of the time is they burn out from heat but way back in the end of the exhuast there not much heat
