Where is the best spot to tap the egt on the 7mgte. Ive seen guys tap the turbo manifold where all the runners meet or the turbo housing. im thinking about taping the 6th runner on my drewgo turbo manifold. I want the most acurrate spot cause im running with the stock motor. Need input. thanks.

Before you tap. How many EGT are we talking? Just one? About as useful
as a case of hemeroids.

You need to actually log all 6 to be of any use otherwise you don't know where each cylinder is at only the average off all 6 or just that one and nothing else.

So in this case with one egt probe, he should tap the downpipe ? Ive actually seen 1 guy tap his turbo back-housing...

I think tapping the downpipe is way too far even the turbo housing. closer to the head is the better.

the back housing is as close as your gonna get for each chamber..

I come from a land down under
Mine is in the DP 5>10" from the Turbo, it will read about 100c lower BUT if the probe fails and breaks off it WON'T take out the turbine wheel.

EGT's are a little slow to respond so unless you have 6 probes they're not much help as a tuning tool but do help highlight "trends" if you monitor it.
