I'd go right off the collector, as that'll give you a good range of all six cylinders.

Ideally, you would have one in each runner; but that' would be a PITA to monitor!

Back in the days before cheap widebands they where used for tuning...

These days I don't really see the point on a gasoline power motor. On a diesel though...

EGT probe is still useful to verify tune quality... after tune is complete EGT can tell how far it's pushed.

I prefer to run mine post turbo that way WHEN the probe fails it doesn't take out the turbine wheel.

^ good advise

when you drive an Rx7, you get used to things going through the turbo (cough..apex seals...cough) :biglaugh:

egt's are good way to know when the timing gets retarded (KR) or if you have shit for gas not to mention give you a good NORM to go by. Mines right behind the oem o2 sensor.

Me too. :) I don't really want to drill into the Greddy manifold anyway.

Last dyno session I saw 672c @ 470rwhp.

Anything over 750c and I'm getting concerned.

IJ, if your sensor was in the collector, what temp would you be concerned with? Mine is in the collector and my warning is set at 825c, which is when i back off. i don't know if the temp would drop from 825-750 between my location and yours.
i only ask because, i will soon be running a new turbo and i am unsure if i want to put the sensor in the same place.
