Hey i just ordered 2 gallons of this stuff, I stripped my car of the:
Rear seats, panels, carpet, spare, etc. basically everything from the rear seats back. Now being its february, The car stays quite chilly even with the heat on blast, Not to mention the road noise. So yeah my plan is to throw on a few layers of this sound deadening polymer. Its an elastomeric coating and ive researched a few, and this seems to be the most cost effective option. Im wondering if anyone else tried it, and if so what kind of results did you get.

whats even more weird is when you sit where the drivers seat is holding the steering wheel trying to make noises while steering..

Probably pretty heavy. It looks like it goes on thick. The carpet set i just bought weighed in at 17 lbs before cutting it. The stock carpet was much heavier. And uglier lol.

...so im confused...are you adding this to enhance your audio system?

cuz otherwise..i can't see the point in adding more weight, and certainly a large amount more to a car that is already known in many circles as a fat pig.

I think he's doing it to keep in some heat and drown out the road noise.

I'm procrastinating taking my backseat, spare, subs etc. out until spring for the same reason, I don't want to have it be as cold as the ground when I get in my car in the morning, and if i get stuck in snow maybe having the little extra weight over the back tires wont be bad.

Im doing it to keep in the heat and the road noise out... so well said mass supra, but as far as weight lanky, a gallon weighs about 12 pounds wet. When a liquid substance cures it usually loses atleast 25% of its weight so im estimating no more than 15 lbs considering i use both gallons. I probably wont have enough area to coat to justify using 2 gallons since im not doing the front cab area... yet. I'll do all that when i get some lightweight racing seats but for now im sticking with the stockers in the name of a budget. Now being i took out significantly more weight by stripping the car, and this will make it quieter than it was before, its still advantageous.
