I was reading the cars for sale thread and a guy was selling his car but said he thought a fuse was blown in the ecu because he gets poor gas mileage. Is this true and if it is how can you tell. What are some other reasons why you would get horrible gas mileage

There is no gas mileage fuse in the ecu. Poor mileage could be caused by a bad o2 sensor, dirty air filter, fouled or incorrectly gapped spark plugs, improper tune, clogged catyletic converter, etc... The ecu itself being the cause of poor mileage would be highly unlikely.

Thanks...if you take the cat off and use a test pipe will this mess with the o2 sensor since the o2 sensor is usually in the cat???

02 sensors are never IN the cat as far as i know, they are before it. The cat effects the AF ratios in the exhaust. So your answer is no, a test pipe wouldn't effect 02 sensors readings.

A blown EFI fuse would cause the car to not run.

if the o2 sensor is bad should the cel come on right

Not all the time, on these older cars. Its hard to tell.

Arron does bring up a good point, is this car completely stock? What "mods" are done to it?

If it has the stock manifold, its actually on the manifold just below the "tubes." It has one wire going to it, and 2 nuts holding it on.
