Eclipse GT vs 3000GT

Easier said than done of course. The exhaust routing would be rediculous, even to the already cramped engine compartment. We actually considered getting an external oil pump, and going with a single under the car as sort of an STS setup. But then we thought of how low the car is already to the ground, it wouldnt take much to take out a housing.

The best thing to do when going sing on these IMO is to make custom exhaust manifolds going together into one T3/T4 flange or T4 flange beside the stock air box to better fit the turbo.

Heh, while working at my second job last Sunday I had this guy come up to me and ask if that was my turbo supra out in the parking lot, I took him out there and showed him the car and took him for a quick drive in it. We've talked on occasion before while I'm working there, he just got a VR4 and he doesn't know squat about them and he's wanting me to help him make it more peppy as he says it doesn't feel very powerful for something pushing 14 psi . I first told the car is even heavier than my supra, which is no light weight, and that boost means jack shit but a resistance to flow air through something. So I've got this big ass printout of parts for him to get for his car, including: pre turbo hardpipes, dryflow airfilter, full FMIC kit with 2" piping on the turbos, going into a 3" into the IC and 3" out all the way to the TB (no more y-pipe there), pull type BOV, turo precats, downpipe, high flow cat, and exhaust. We'll see if he gets these. I told him he should be pretty happy with the car once he frees up the restrictions in the intake and exhaust. Should be pretty beastly once that stuff is on there .

i would say his first mods should be safc, bigger turbos, fmic, and exhaust. stock 12b's (i think thats what they are) suck ass. I had one try and mess with me in the mustang and i couldnt tell the difference between off boost and on...just a really loud whistle lol.

The stockers are 9b's I've got a 15g upgrade printout from HPK.com that he should like . I think he'll be happy with the full intake and exhaust. If not, then he can look into uping the boost from there.

ah. well like i said his "goal" is 400whp. So maybe the 15gs with stock boost he would love. Who knows, but im almost sure my supra will be done way before he completes his. (its this wager we have going on) Thanks

Eh, I doubt this buy will ever buy 1/3 the shit I printed off the internet for him, but it was worth a try. We've got a few VR4's around here and they are all stock to my knowlege. I'd like to see a modified one and ride in it to get a fell of what I'd be up against in my supra .
