Ok, I'll bite, why would you ask a MKIII website about MKI coilovers? And it would probably help to include the ebay link so people could see what your talking about.

Probably doesn't want others to snipe him.

If this is for a MkI then you might want to zip over to CelicaSupra.com and ask them. The MkI brain trust is all over there.

First off, let me state that i do not have these on my supra. One of my friends has them on his 1993 Honda Civic. He spent some money on some decent struts (KYB) and said that they wern't terrible. VERY VERY hard, and that they handle and hold the road very fell! But, Dan, i think you know that Tien SS's are probably a much better bet!

In my opinion, if youve got some extra money, give them a try~!

Did not intend to come across like I was bashing, just a little confusion on my part. I do remember there being a thread on these a while back but other than that, I don't have any useful info.

My friend bought an ebay set like these for his Celica.
It was kind of a project thing since his car is, well a POS.
It cost him like a total $80, we had to drill and custom fit them alittle but they did go in.
The end result was his car actually being LIFTED not lowered about 2 inches, they were adjustable to lift his car almost 5 inches too.
It was also a very harsh ride, the springs are MUCH shorter than the stock or a good coilover kit.

The MK1 kit wasn't the same kit that my friend used, but looks very similar.
I'm a huge believer in "you get what you pay for" after the ebay-celica project. I'm not gonna lie, I really don't feel safe driving in that thing. Lol

Interested in knowing how much spring travel exists before you notice the car hitting the bump stops? Noticing the amount of coils available prior to actual loading and compression from the vehicle's weight, I hope the spring constants are super high (hard), that is +1000 lb/in, because I suspect there is minimum spring travel available for typical driving?

i used ebay coilovers on the front of my mkii. they were called drop zone and appear to be ground control coilovers without the gc logo on them. paid ~$80 shipped but only used the fronts as i cant use them in the rear. they were for a 92+ prelude which is a lil heavier then the mkii. spring rate was ~400lbs and the springs were 8in long. had them on the front for over a year with no issues. lowered it about 2in and can go almost 2in lower and about 4in higher then where it is now. at the same time i converted to a short stroke conversion and used tokico illuminas from the rear of a aw11. works great for me. what you have to do when getting coilovers is make sure you get the right length springs in the right spring rates. id post a link to the writup i did but celicasupra forums is down for some reason right now.
