I think is was something like 1174 with nos and over 1k without in a mk3. There is a dragster that has over 1500 in europe. Youtube mibrum 7m or something like that.

Not going to matter as you wont get anywhere near that half assing and with no money or know how or taking it to the wrong person.

Go jz if its a drift car. 7m has more torque and would be easier to spin tires all day but the 1j will last longer in a budget build.

well the thing is, is i would be buying the 7m and building it up on the rack and then putting it in so i mean i would be dumping money in to it then putting it in so idk would the time and money that it requires to do a 1jz swap be worth it or not... i am really torn

7M-GTE swap as long as you have the harness is the easiest, could probably be done in a day if you have everything neccessary (don't forget you need a new exhaust!)..

any MKIII tranny works with it as well, as I'm running a W58 (Non turbo 5-speed) on a 7MGTE..

First of all search, this has beem covered alot.

2jzge swap with 7m electronics, cheap, reliable, easy, these engines are practically given away. Also has potential for a na-t in the future.

Theres a whole write up in the 2jz/1jz tech section

I would have put that in nicer ways. This is a decision for his car, not a jz vs 7m battle.

As you are new to this car thing, refreshing your 7m might be a good way to learn about the whole "car thing." Not saying that you can't learn on a jz platform, but it might mean one less half done craigslist project of a MKIII if you work yourself into it. I think that the 7M is a fine platform. I also don't think that you really need 600HP at this stage in the game.

Just my .02 though.

If you are learning to drift 200 hp is plenty so keep the GE. Down the road when ypu outgrown the GE, JZ would be the way to go.

ID build the 7mgte to start off. Just basic mods on a well built 7m is plenty. Just make sure the machine work is good, the build is good, and all hoses and seals are replaced and all the important stuff. a biogger rad would help as well and a good oil cooler system. Run 1 more qt than needed as well like 6qts in the stock system.

After that go jz. jz would be the better platform to have for drifting tho.

And the ge prolly has about 160-170 wheel hp. Kinda weak for a 3500lb car but it can be done. Dont need 600hp either. 400 would be more than enough esp if your just learning.

well thats the thing is i could run stock 7mgte but i would be dropping money in to it right now while i am running the 7mge i can build up the gte and make it what i want. I know forza is just a game but doing the few things on there that i could do made it worlds better.

Oh yeah might i add my ge cant turn the wheels over worth shiz and it has over 200,000 on it so its haveing a hard time keeping up with running right now. : ?
