easier to remove just motor or pull motor and trany together?

Ok thanks for the info. I wish i had pulled it all as one but the person that was helping my pull it always seprated (never pulled 7m though). I will drop and attach before putting back in.

X2 i had to pull mine all by my self since no one could make it the day i was pulling it it...deffinatly gets boring after a while in a quiet garage.Plus you gotta stop every stroke oof the cherry picker just to make sure you are not messing anything up...

i pulled my auto trans off my 7m by itself, talk about hours of trying to torque bellhousing bolts.. for the 7M i'll say its easier to pull together :) for my car the bolt pattern is way better and i'm just going to pull the trans off by itself.

Just FYI, I have done both before...
I removed my R154 just to replace the tranny... it was a huge PITA!! Getting the started bolts back on was the worst of it.
When I removed my motor to rebuild it, I removed motor/tranny together. It was a breeze with the help of various threads on here. Installing it was also easy.
