E - Brake light stuck in the on position

Got in my car yesterday and the brake light was staying on even with the brake off. I manually pushed the switch with my hand and the light dims but doesn't turn off. what could be the problem?

The E-brake light also come on if your brake master cylinder is low on brake fluid. I would check that.

And the master cylinder should only be low for two reasons... either a leak in the lines, or pads that are worn out.

yea it was gradually getting lower on fluid, very slowly though. the light went off after I filled it up more but there has to be a leak sonewhere. I just did my brakes about a month and a half ago. I get this weird sound oon my rear passenger side when I brake and start to almost come to a sound. it sounds like the quaking of a duck and as my speed decreases, the period of time in between each 'quack' increases.

I've heard of brake squeal, but never brake quack. I'm extremely intrigued. Get a video of the quack!

I do not see how that could be the case since the warning systems aren't interconnected and ABS has it's own MIL.

I would check for rotted brake lines. Maybe even get someone to press the brake while you look under there.

When you say "just did brakes" what did you exactly do?? Pad slap? Cut rotors or replace them?? Did you lube your slides??? How did the hardware on your caliper bracket look?? There could be many reasons why your brakes are making noise.

just ddid brakes means just did them RIGHT. all the sliding bushings were lubed if needed and all the hardware was checked. brand new rotors and pads.

Well, since you did them recently, did them "right", and what was done has nothing to do with the hydraulic portion of the brakes, what you did can't possibly have anything to do with this now can it?
