i used one of these to try to cut a piece of my rsr pipe off. I was probably there for a half hour spraying with lube and muscling the thing around in a circle. I quit and got out the air tools.

you can get a harbor freight chop saw for $50. i bought one to use for one job, figured it would atleast last that long. it did, and worked well, and that was 3yrs ago.

I come from a land down under
Common at exhaust shops where access is limited, be better off with a single wheel cutter if you're not working under the car.

I use one of my bandsaws with a 34tpi blade.

i have one of those type cutter's.it is hard to keep it going in the same path.i thought it would be easy to make the cut even around the pipe.i ended up making a better cut with my porta-band saw.

If you're cutting anything above mild steel with that thing, give it up.

As IJ said, it's a tool of last resort - use anything else before resorting to that thing.

Thanks for the info guys, glad I didn't waste the money. Seems I have all the correct tools for the job (minus the laser guided band saw Ian mentioned ;)).

I've used a large one of these to cut up an old exhaust to go in the trash.
