Thanks everybody!

It does look like it comes on late on the graph, but on the street it's different. It's hitting 10psi by 3200rpm on the street. It spools almost as fast as the 50 trim ct26 did, as measured on my butt dyno. I really need more rpm because it just keeps pulling, and it only stops because of the rev limiter. If it reved to 7k I think it would add another 15-20 hp from that alone.

It's physically a fairly large turbo, but it's not a LARGE turbo as turbos go.
A LARGE turbo would be worthless on a stock 7m anyways. Bigger is not always better.

I also was experimenting with the maft pro a little today with my wideband and I noticed the mid and high map points of the maft pro were too high, which is why it was not doing so well until the high map point was reached, and that is what we were mainly tuning.

sweet, cant wait to see what my gt4082 is ona spool like with the 0.68 a/r turbine and some port work on the head, standalone, etc.. i was hoping for 450-500rwhp on pump gas and 20psi, looks like i was right. :-D awesome man.

Should not be a problem with the mods listed!

421 rwhp on a 58 mm( inducer size) turbo is very respectable especially on the stock intake manifold.Plus I saw no a/f's listed so if this was kept at the industry standard safe of 11.2 to 11.7 there is still more left in it at these boost levels. Like I said earlier nice job all the way around.

Sean

You got it, the a/f was right around 11.4. I have a good frame of reference of what a turbo that is "too big" is now, and this one is not.

congrats aaron! nice power level for the boost and tune. there is still a lot left in it!

about the turbo size, no it isnt a huge turbo by today's standards. it just looks so big from the outside because the comp cover is bigger than an S cover. you cant judge a turbo by its cover, its what's on the inside that counts haha.

Aaron: Not sure about yours but in my car the Dyno Operator has to feed it in gently or it smokes the rollers so on the chart it looks laggy!

:biglaugh:

Remember, mine was done on a budget, a low budget. :icon_wink

The reason I am happy with the numbers is not because it's the best, it's because it is a good return on my investment in fun!

I have no question in my mind that I could work out a few more little details and crank the boost up and hit 500whp.

I still bet the operator couldn't hit it as hard as you do on the street Aaron!

Rollers don't have a whole lot of traction! ;)

Did you see my earlier question about the Cam timing changes?

Aaron nice work on the turbo selection and tuning. The engine bay also looks great. If you don't mind me asking what did you end up setting your cam gears at? Again nice work.
Sean

Thanks dude!
It's 2deg retarded on exhaust, and 1 deg retarded on intake, and I'm 360deg retarded. :biglaugh: That's where it liked to be after many adjustments. The changes are mostly in the midrange power.

The head had been surfaced two times, and the block two times, with a 2mm mhg. Not sure what the overall timing would be without using a degree wheel.

Ditto on Sean's question what were the results on each Cam position change?

I know it's hard to be accurate due to the other tuning issues but was there a general pattern?

It made noticeable differences in midrange power, and the peak hp vs. torque. I think it would help more with aftermarket cams to go with the gears.
