Dyno Errors

Can anyone explain to me why I would dyno and see my hp and tq lines cross at 4100rpm NOT 5252 like it's supposed to?

Asking the dyno operator only resulted in him telling me my timing or ECU is bad :3d_frown:

So upon further research, I am reading that because the HP and TQ scales aren't the same, rpms are not going to cross at 5252.

So I just photoshopped one graph to move the tq scale up to be where the hp one is, and all it did was push the hp/tq crossing to 3500rpm. LOL

Here are the original graphs:

I wish I had the dyno knolege to help Tanya. Just last night, I saw you engine build for the first time, and thought it was beautiful! I know these are not the numbers you were looking for, or even the numbers of a stock 5M. Something must be wrong! How does the car feel now that you have enough miles on the motor to dyno it?

And, what's with all these dyno tuners not knowing a thing about timing? I was disappointed with my tuner as well, when he told me to go get my timing right and come back.

My ass dyno tells me that the real dyno is on crack. Everyone who has ridden in my car has said it should be 170-180whp easy. And these aren't people who daily drive Dodge Colts, not knowing what 180whp feels like.

Well the dyno guy just called me back to say he tested a bunch of cars today and the dyno is dead on those cars, so he believes my dyno to be accurate.

.... wtf

All is not lost Tanya...........You DO have the torque of a 1JZ, even on a bad dyno.:evil2:

ummma timing curve like above will happen pending on how the motor is put together and comp ratio and your timing plus it can be in limp dick mode well pulling timing at upper rpm

all dyno's will shoot a diffent number cause of sea level i liek the unit we have at my work dyno dynamicks with is far better then a inter number posting dyno jet

so there must be an issue

time to start looking at stuff

ps turq hide's lack of hores power

All is figured out already, my timing belt was loose. I went and dyno'd again yesterday and did 155whp and 175ft/lbs. I think I am losing hp because I am a dumb bat., so it should be hp in 160s/170s... anyway, will dyno AGAIN someday, this time with my BF driving bc I am tired of doing it and then feeling like an idiot afterwards.

The car ran fine on the street w/ the timing belt loose, how strange huh? I checked the belt yesterday just out of curiousity and it was loose between the exhaust cam and the timing belt tensioner.

The first dyno and this dyno both cross at 5252rpms its just it doesnt do it in the most obvious way because the hp and tq scales are different. I am not used to looking at graphs such as these so it didnt make any sense to me until someone pointed it out.
