2 hella 90mm projectors won't fit on the same side. I tried.

My lights r wired like how u describe. The projector is low beam (hid), the high beam unit (halogen) turns on with the high beam light switch. Sorry, but I wouldn't be able to explain how to do it, I had someone else do the wiring.

I'm gonna change my setup by putting lexus ls430 projectors (the best of projectors) into h4 housings.

Yeah i think im just going to use two halogen projectors.. I dont feel like messing around with HIDs. haha

Fyi....they would be wired the same way.

I'd argue the LS460 is the best projector (as they're bi-xenon and the LS430 is only low beam), but they're a bit large...

I wouldnt have them wired the same way as you, as I would be switching between bulbs for high and low. You have it set up so when high beams are on the HID switches to high beam and then the second halogen projector turns on, correct?

My Hella 90mm projector modules are not bi-xenon (low beam only). Additionally, I have Hella 90mm high beam modules (non-projector).

My headlights turn on in the following ways:

low beam HID "ON"
OR
low beam HID "ON" and high beam "ON"

Why would you need the low beam HID to turn "OFF" when the high beam is turned "ON"....since the high beam would overpower the low beam? Also, because of the brightness of HID lighting inside a projector, hardly is there a reason to turn "ON" high beam; hence, the reason that I have a halogen bulb in my high beam modules (no need to spend on HID).

Poodles: You've been talking about creating a light setup for a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time. :cry:Let's see results, at least progress.

A semi bolt-in setup like yours is just to expensive for me to make at this time

Sure, I could slap something together, but I have high standards and don't like cutting corners, especially if I'm going to sell them.

Oh, I was under the assumption of you had bi-xenons. Sorry.

And honestly, I just dont have the cash flow to dump extra on a set of HIDs, plus i would have no idea how to wire it. Switching bulbs would be much easier to wire in

I'm sure there are electrical gurus here that could help you.

If you have welding skills, this is an good setup that could be easily made:

Low beam hids have 2 wires. power and ground. You will need balasts , bulbs and projectors tho.

From a hyundai genesis

I live in CA so my set up is probably illegal but i never use the high beams.

i believe the head light does a half revolution not a full revolution when turned one other wise it would just end up closed again. and you have to cut both arms to get working sleepeyes and reweld the ball joint onto the arm that is directly connected to the motor. and yes at first i did have problem with the angle of the light at first but it was as simple as buying a longer bolt for the up and down adjustment on the headlight housing.

I suppose MR2 headlights are nowhere near supra headlights?

Correct, completely different. The hardest part of that entire assembly is the bezel around the lights...

Any chance that that assembly would bolt into the supras housing, since the mr2 and the supra share the same size headlight? Then make a custom shroud?

The only way to find out is to buy the mr2 setup. Do it!

From pics I've seen, I'd say no.

I might.. I have to compare the cost of buying projectors and doing the work myself vs. the mr2 kit..

Just saw poodles post.. maybe not.. hahaha

You're better of having a set fabricated for your car that is sure to fit.

It'll be done when i have enough suspension work done to chase down an NSX in the swervies, and enough power to reliably eat corvettes and shit mustangs.

At the least, I assume that you're referring to an NSX with a legit driver, a Z06, and GT500.

When you've chased down, the NSX, eaten a Z06, and have had a GT500 exit out your rear end, you either have built one of the best handling 200MPH+ MK3 ever (and you are a legit driver) or decided to stop toying around with an MK3 and got down to business by purchasing another car like a 997 GT3 RS and you are a legit driver). :naughty:
