What would the results be if a supra owner would to split the exhaust with a Y pipe before the differential and weezle two pipes back and run a dual exhaust system, i've never seen this. D'you think a system like that would be possible to create..of course more for show than go !

that setup is killer...but what I was hitting at was one outlet on each side of the car, we won't compare to mustang Gt but u get the picture. Has anyone actually ran the pipe above the tank and had a resonator or muffler coming out of the back on each side.....?

I've been building for a symmetrical dual setup. First, no there is no way to put anything back there stock. No room over the tank, very little behind the tank, you won't fit anything around it. You need to have the tank cut out from the support strap to the passenger side just under the seam line and have it welded up again with some sheet metal (the route I've gone). This will give you enough space (barely) for a muffler where the tank section used to be, though you need to be careful of exactly which muffler you shoose so it doesn't hang too far down, and the tip(s) line up symmetrical to the other side. The second option is to remove the spare tire well and install a fuel cell a little higher up. Pros to the cell: you get more muffler options and you can have full stock fuel capacity. Cons, you lose the spare tire well, and you have to put the fill neck somewhere. I considered this, having the fill neck come out behind the license plate like GM & Ford did until the 80's, but decided against the cost and effort. .
