well its the cat and muffler that take up the brunt of that.. a 3" cat runs somewhere in the 200's, n a muffler around 100+

supra90turbo - the 90deg angle is of no consequence. the idea is to relieve back pressure to get maximum spool, not redirect flow. granted some exhaust will come out of course when its open, but it will flow like nuts none the less.... plus it will keep the exhaust system nice and quiet when out of boost.

OK. Test the flow of that one. Then test mine when I get to it.

Flow IS the main concern. Otherwise, it's simply a noisemaker.
Granted that a 90* cutout will do more than no cutout, on the same token, a cutout placed in direct path of exhaust flow will flow like crazy. Therefore, the term "flow like nuts" can only be applied to one placed directly in the path of flow.

While the differences could be minimal, I'd rather put it directly in the path. Probably just personal preference....

It is just held on there with a VBand clamp, so you could in theory plumb it into your exhaust any way you want, even directly in the flow, and pull the regular exhaust out in a different way.

Also, 2x2.25" pipes are more cross section (barely) than a single 3". I'm a big fan of the system that is dual pipes side by side from the DP back, into two angled canisters welded together. Might have to get one of those built for me. :)

My friend had one on his '89 240sx, Dave.
I believe his was Megan, but not sure.
Looking into it, I like the design of the system, as well...

Also, about the v-band: I noticed that too, and think it's a great idea... I've got some ideas for it ;)
A simple shut off valve to either keep pressure in the actuator or out of it mounted in the cabin... hmm... yep.

Ian ran duals to reduce noise.
2 mufflers, er 4 equals quiet power...

Totally. The proof is in the sheet he posted.
Lower Db readings + more power... hm.... sign me up?

::edit:: wasn't it the old cartech mk3 that had dual angled glasspacks at the rear of the car? if not, then who's car was that? OLD pic, too...

I come from a land down under
While the cutout will achieve the same there are a few downsides, slow spool while it's closed and the chance of a noise ticket if you give it a squirt at the wrong time/place.

I'm NOT saying my way is the only way but it works for me.
