Has anyone ventured into Dual Exit Exhaust land? Im curious to see someone who did it. If not, im considering pioneering it. Possibly a high flow 3"in 2.5" dual out and exit before rear wheels.. not sure it it would turn out nice or not. It'd make the exhaust path much shorter and i think the dual 2.5 would be good for keeping low backpressure... just an idea for now... input please?

I think it would look good. I saw a picture in the very early 90's in Motor Trend. If you look at the diff, they slot both sides for pipes. But nobody now has one, or has ever seen it in person. Could have just been a preproduction idea scrapped.

I remember there being a dual canister unit (Trust maybe) that was split into two pipes from the 2nd cat back. someone one the boards has one of the 2 original that are known in the US but i fail to remember who... I was actually thinking of doing a 2x2.5 from the cat for increased ground clearance and to be different. We'll see if that ever happens

True but IJ has a centered LPG tank, making dual pipes easier. With the location of our fuel tank dual pipes would be very difficult. If you figure out an effective way around the pipes let us know.

my exhaust is pretty much duals except they come back together in 1 side...

and like supraofdoom said a true dual exhaust would come out of a twin turbo set up.

umm don't do dual because of free flowing exhaust because who ever told you that is full of shit.

Going from a single to a dual WILL introduce a significant amount of turbulance in the system which means HIGHER back pressure not lower ;)

Well i was considering putting the 3"in 2.5 dual out muffler around where the stock resonator sits, and running straight pipes out to the back, or maybe even side exit so i dont think the stock fuel tank would be a problem as is. And this single to dual, how would that make alot of turbulance? its done inside the muffler... it wouldnt create any more turbulance than simply having a muffler. Sure im not going with a really loud straight through, but im going for a deep but quieter than straight turbo back tone. I drive alot so i like to keep the drone down but keep it sounding nice with boost n flow well
