Just out of curiosity has anyone ever heard of or seen a dual exhaust setup coming directly off each turbo to like sidepipes or something?

i have seen pics of one that came off a single turbo and strait out the front fender, but i have access to a metal shop and am thinking about whipping up a set.

but some pics or even a vid would be nice

That would be really tough to fit two seperate exhausts of any decent size between the two turbos... Would really only be a good idea with an aftermarket twin setup where the exhaust housings of the turbos aren't 5" apart and facing towards each other.

yea, i was thinking about maybe a 2" off each one, and a side exit in front of the back tires

not visible until they pop out right at the end (or maybe both on one side) similar to Dado's M3 from DTM Power if you are familiar with it.

i think i could squeeze them between the two turbos too. only question is would the stock wastegates be able to flow enough, or would i creep badly?

A single 3" has more volume than dual 2" exhausts. Even if you could fit it, it would be counter productive.

well, considering i am running a stock down and y pipe right now, and am completely broke. i think it might be my best option, seeing the whole thing would probably cost me 50 dollars

I'm not trying to be rude... but if you don't have the money to do it right, just don't do it at all. This is a severe problem in the Mk3 community! The stock y pipe and dp isn't going to kill you, and you can run on that until you save the small amount of money to get the 3" y pipe and dp from any number of companies out there. For $50 you're going to get a horrible exhaust, the price for decent material to do such a project would be many times that.

Edit: lol IJ, I'm glad we all still remember how to do volume calculations.

no offense taken at all.

As far as being broke being "a severe problem in the MKIII community" well yea, as it is a problem in almost every car community (outside high class mercedes and porche's where the owner obviously had money to start with) but this is not a case of not having the money to do it right. In my case, this project can be taken on for cheap cost (being that i have a shop and really only have to pay for whatever muffler setup i choose) and come out looking nice. with a decent performance gain over stock.

i realize that it is not a huge improvement, but it is an improvement. as it stands now, i would be stock y and downpipe until i get out of school. (2 1/2 in, 2 1/2 to go)

my plan was not to upgrade anything from the cat forward, because when i get out of school i was just going to go single, so why waste money on a setup for the stock twins.

now, the reason being i could get some good metal stock for under 50 dollars is that i have a connection via my father (manages paper mills)

after building this setup, i can sell my custom 3" and wideband ready downpipe and actually pocket a little money.

i would also have to pick up two small resonators or glass packs, so it would be probably closer to $125 ish

so there is my justification haha

edit: also, the stock y pipe and downpipe are quite a bottleneck in the exhaust system, and from everything i have read and learned upgrading just the y pipe will actually extend the life of the turbos as long as you aren't pushing the boost much (i am stock and plan on staying stock boost, just for reliability)
