I had always wished that I had waiting for a deal on a turbo Supra, but now I definitely know I should have. I just couldn't help myself though, I bought the first Supra I ever drove. Now I have driven a total of three Supras, two NA and one turbo. I <3 Turbo.

I'll probably get to drive the turbo one again today. :) I get to advise David on the car (how to take care of it, what mods he can do, etc.). The first mod I'm thinking of suggesting is a turbo timer. Any thoughts on this? (basically I need an argument to give to his mom/dad on why he needs it, heh)

Hehe, I let my brother (David) drive my N/A Supra while we went to fetch this one from Eugene and he couldn't stop gushing about it (modified suspension used on a curvy road... mmm). He went nuts when he drove the one he now actually owns.

I made a vow... not to drive a turbo supra unless it is my own NA that has been converted to turbo. haha N/A is like training wheels, or a watered down version... you learn to control the heavy 3500lb beast and then once you do that... throw some boost in the mix and have some fun lmao!

I skipped my training wheels and went right into turbo! But, I wouldn't of been able to do it if I had not worked at my shop for the past 2 years. Its amazing what you get to drive workin at a shop - monster vettes, crazy porches, stupid honduh ricers, hand full of Z's, etc.. you name it ive probably come across it (minus some exotics)

heh...i broke the training wheels, still got em around here in pieces too. That's when started riding the big boy bike.

I had never driven a turbo car before mine, so coming from an N/A to a 340whp ballistic missile was quite a step. The first time I dropped the hammer I thought I was going to die from suffocation I was pushed back in the seat so hard....then I pranced around town with a huge grin on my face, and picked a few bones with cars that knocked out the N/A.

my first car was an 87n/a i loved that car and it was quick to me. i bought another n/a from a buddy(the same buddy that killed my frist car) and it was too beat up so i did the turbo swap. going from n/a to turbo is night and day, i love the boost. i dont think that i could ever own another n/a. i now own two turbo supras and im broke, but i couldnt be happier:)

I suppose I should also mention that this was only the second turbo car I've driven in my life. The first was a turbo diesel VW Golf. Pretty much the turbo was the only thing that allowed that car to move at all. :icon_razz

Kim (bluemyst) and I are working on getting David to sign up for an account here on SM. He wants to learn everything there is to know about the Supra. :)

I had my N/A automatic for a couple of months, it wasn't that slow.. I mean, it was kinda slow, yeah. One of those Nissan Altima 2.5 SE beat me (coming from behind and everything).. but accelerating from a stoplight, I was a bit faster than my friend's 2000 Accord (2.3 liters v-tec, 150HP I think).

Anyways, that motor is now in my backyard. I never even tried the 7M-GTE, never driven one. I went directly to 1JZ 5-spd, and from the beggining had HKS intake and Tanabe exhaust. What a difference! =)

We're glad you guys are enjoying the car!
It was a sad moment, watching it drive away.
Remember to make sure he changes that oil!
If you think that one's fun you should take a spin in Heidi's ;)

David has been driving it a lot lately so we're almost to the 500 mile mark where we need to dump the break-in oil. He's really serious about taking care of this car. We'll be getting a turbo timer for it soon and floor mats.

I'd love to take a spin in Heidi's Supra. :)

Grant (Oneandgone) has some oem grey floor mats!
He wanted a reasonable price for them, hopefully they're still there.
As long as he isn't burning any oil, he should switch to full synth 20W50, nothing thinner. Have fun!
