Godspeed makes a nice kit that uses the stock mounts and comes with electric fans. I also believe you could put a shroud on it as well, but I don't know for sure as the shroud was long gone when I got my car.

Nick, I think the question is about keeping stock fan or if electric fans are needed.

Just my 2 cents sorry, because I havent the answer.

All radiators need a fan. I don't know what you mean. And aluminum doesn't transfer heat as fast as copper/brass, so you really need fans.

Stock radiator is brass I think.
So are aluminium replacement radiators a good upgrade?

thanks for the replies, so will the top and bottom of the mishimoto or godspeed be rounded like stock? all the pics i see are squared and thats the only thing stopping me from ordering haha.

and while im at it, best place/price to get one? :D

found these:
http://store.driftmotion.com/static/i-mmrad-sup-86.php
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mishimoto-M...&fits=Model:Supra&hash=item20c12124b6&vxp=mtr
http://www.ebay.com/itm/GODSPEED-86...&fits=Model:Supra&hash=item2ec1fb0aab&vxp=mtr

ahhh i see thanks

last time i tired to order a cheap one from ebay for my previous 89 n/a, that was "drop in" and it was completely squared off. i never got to use it and ended up giving it away when i sold the car. i just done want to make the same mistake haha

I have the godspeed and it is squared off, just have to Fab the brackets...squared looks better IMHO. I have room for stock or electric fans. Still unsure what I'm going with.

Mishimoto is rounded. THe closest thing to making it not a drop in was that the hose inlet/outlets were a tiny, tiny bit smaller. Normal hoses work just fine, but you may need to use a new clamp (you should anyways).

koyo racing rad fits perfectly with the stock fan and shroud. just need a plug for the 1jz temperature sensor.

Yeah, I have the Koyo racing radiator. It's all aluminum, and works witht he stock mounts, though it's thicker.

It does need a plug for the 1JZ temp sensor, but that's a simple plug to get, 16mm but I keep forgetting if it's 1.5mm or 1.25mm thread. (I brought the radiator into a parts store and tried the plugs out in it, then bought the one that fit.)

I restate my previous post. Took mine (godspeed) all the way out of the box and it has the round spots welded on for the brackets...everything else is identical to stock as well. It is a direct drop-in.
