Driveshaft question?

Is there any difference or interchange with the driveshafts between the turbo and N/A manual models?

Shaftmasters shows the turbo and non-turbo as two separate part numbers. All the MKIII turbo and non-turbo one peice shafts are the same price.

I am assuming they are diffrent specs but can't speak from direct experience.

The R154 is longer than the W58 (the actual trans). The auto is longer than both of the manuals. All this amounts to is 3 different front sections

Very good info guys. I don't have a driveshaft currently and would ideally prefer to buy a 1 piece. Jsut had a chance to buy a stock shaft for really cheap. The guy says they're the same and seemed to me that they would be different. Just wanted to check.

As I have a R154 and will be runnin that with a twin turbo 1uzfe, no sense in risking anything and sacrificing response. Just do the 1 piece and go.

im pretty sure the output shafts on the trans are different too. different spline IIRC.

the auto and r154 have same output splines but auto is longer, w58 output is smaller.
I have all three and mixed them up by accident now we all know.
