Driver's side Headlight on w/parking lights?

Started this in the general section, but not much info/response... I did not have this issue with the 2JZ-VVTi swap in the '90, so am not sure what's up. This swap, using Aristo engine harness. With the VVTi, I had a 1999 JDM Supra harness. Any ideas on fixing this issue and making it look less retarded?

Headlight issue

Noticed this recently, but have not even begun to troubleshoot...

The driver's side headlight is on, when I turn on the parking lights. They are both down, but the driver's one is on and lights up the area underneath. Poor man's neon?

I have a set of HIDS I'd like to eventually install, so I'd like to fix this now, before complicating it with another mod.

I did recently replace the switch at the steering stalk, because it was very loose and just the vibration of the car running made the lights go on/off intermittently. I don't remember if I had the same issue before that though.

I do have some extra headlight retractor electronics from other parts cars, but have not tried to swap anything yet.

Car's a '91, w/2JZ... (Running rich and breaking up at ~2500RPM... Still need to troubleshoot this).

Anyone else come across this headlight issue?

The 2JZ does that when you install it. It is a glitch in the ISC circuit.

In the ISC circuit? Is it specifically to using the Aristo ECU? Any workarounds to separating the circuits?

That's what I also believe, but figured I'd check with other JZers..

Well there is a tigger for the HL relay in the dash wiring. I think it triggers the motors and not the lights them selfs though. That wouldn't cause just one light to work though. I'm going to have to go with some ghetto wiring going on up front.

can you find out what it's crossed with? like if you pull the fuses till you find the circuit that is supplying power to the headlight.

i had a similar problem where my efi circuit was crossed with my AM2 circuit about 12" from the fusebox. my avc-r and wideband and ecu's were staying on constantly and killing the battery.

so i guess if you could isolate the circuit, then try to narrow it down by sections, like from the headlight, to the firewall, then from the firewall, to the underdash, etc.

another trick to tell where the trouble is roughly, is to use a multimeter and measure the resistance between the two wires that are crossed. the more solid a short, the lower the ohm short, and the table we use at my work is, 0ohm-->5m, 1ohm-->5-10m. anyways, mine was 0 ohms.......though, i use solid copper at work, not stranded, so i dunno how it will affect the measurements........probably lower, but i can't be certain, i fluked finding my first trouble.

Yeah, I may mess with it this weekend. I was hoping it'd be something along the lines of a failing headlight relay, or retractor module deal. Not any changes in the front body harness, though the car was hit in the passenger front corner before, so there may be some hidden wiring damage I'll have to look for.

I did not think this was related to the swap at all, so I wanted to confirm that too. Thanks ya'll.
