Ok, so there's this place Fleet Pride (universal joint) driveshaft and basically drivetrain specialists, and i sent in my old drive shaft in to them to have it hacked up and remade into a one peice design...

Next day the head machinist calls me up at work and says " hey jeff, listen i got some bad news, i accidentally went paint crazy and covered up all youre measurments on the peice of paper i had them on, and your yokes are already machined and off the old shafts."

hmmm...im thinking what the hell does that mean, this guys a freekin pro and accidentally losst my much needed most important specs for my goddamn driveshaft, wht do i have to do now?

so he tells me, "ok so what i need from you is the measurement from the seal comin out of the tranny, to the flat part on the differential where it connects. And remember the car cant be on a jack or jack stands of course."

Well let me see, im basically a fat bastard and cant get more than an arm under my car without it raised in the air,

so my problem...

Im not going to be able to get an accurate measurement without being able to get under the car, does anyone have a measurement for this length??

any help is much appreciated, i dont know why this shit happens to me, im sure im not the only unlucky bastard around though,
thanks JKLENKS

I did exactly the same thing (had the stocker hacked and re fabbed to one-piece) and also got told that the measurement needs to be taken with the rear suspension loaded. Not true. We have IRS and the diff doesn't move so you can measure with the car on stands. Make sure and point that little fact out when you go back in too. ;)

Yeah, boosted beat me to it. just jack up the back and measure it. IRS (independent rear suspension) keeps the diff in the same place regaurdless of whether its on jacks or not. The dimension will not chance except maybe a few thousanths of an inch due to chassis flex which is not going to make any differance what so ever.
