Has anyone had any experience with these turbos like the 60-1 or dm67 I'm about to buy a turbo kit or put my own together I'ts going on a built 7m and does anyone think the mp t70 can out perform either of these by any chance.

Oh and my goals are around 500-650 between there somewhere. I'm looking for a good street turbo with quick spool but decent top end.

So if anyone can tell me there experience with any three of these turbos or any turbo compariable to these.

thanks
Michael

I will gladly share. I bought a kit from DriftMotion and I must warm you, that I had fitment problems with the manifold. The cylinder one pipe hit the top of the filter housing and I had to grind it down. I am going to upgrade to a full flow kit so a sandwhich would make all that go away. Makes no sense to run a T4 on a stock oiling system.

Make sure you wrap the manifold and downpipe in heat wrap and don't use a cheap one. I used Thermo Tec. The downpipe did not work for me either. It was for a 1JZ kit so I had to completely modify it. It was no as bolt on as it should of been based on what David told me at DriftMotion. He no longer works there and Aaron knows his stuff.

PM me for any other questions.

^heat wrap may work but in the long run its just going to rust out your manifold since it traps in moisture. its not a must have but to each there own tho.

Well, it will take a while to rust and I might change my manifold before then but how long would it wake a stainless steel manifold to rust? :-/

true. i guess im just opposed to the whole heat wrap thing. i don't like the look nor what it does to the metal. just not my cup of tea so to say.

ZUM, I like the Bachan avatar. LOL!

I have wrapped anything in my engine bay that could get wrapped. I am looking to get the foil kind of covering for the hoses at the back for the heatercore and heater valve.

^Have you ever personally wrapped anything?

no i havent but i dont not like the look of it and going off what i have heard(i know hear say)i do not want to do it to my own car.

i was not downing it in any way. but you can get almost the same results from just coating it which would be the way i would go.

The wraps are better at keeping heat down. I personally have a lot of ceramic coated parts; but a properly done wrap job is the way to go.

Thanks. ;)

Have manifolds and turbo exhaust sides coated.

Wrap Down Pipes. (use BBQ Black paint to help keep rust down.) :)

Wrap China Exhaust manifolds. (It's cheap. who cares right?) ;)

Was this before or after they made the adjustment so that the kit is made for a 7m? It used to say modification was needed, but now it says the kit is ready to go.

I have the dm t67. the dp needed modification. I talked to Aaron yesterday and he said they redit the downpipe. I'm not sure about the exhaust manifold. Mine didn't need to be ground or anything.

Have yet to see what the turbo will do at higher boost.

And how Do yall think a mp t70 would compare to the dm67 kit I'm trying to find a quick spooling turbo that will get me to about 550-650whp reluably.

Thanks

And let me know if there is a better choice turbo for me that can better meet my goals.

Yes, we did the base tune 18lbs. 410hp 400tq which is lower than I expected.

quality? As I understand it the technology is old generation compared to Jays gt35r which is newer technology. I spoke with Aaron about it and the difference is that to work on the gtr, if it goes, is that the cost is almost what a new one is. Hope that helps.
