Sorry I worded that wrong. I didn't mean its just for racing. I had talked to Aaron and he said if its your dd. 60-1 kit is better around town. It doesn't mean that you can't dd it with the dm67 kit.

Its all good :) I just wanted to clarify that the 67 isn't an on/off switch like some turbos can be.

My engine is currently under the knife and I'm thinking of getting a driftmotion single turbo upgrade.

My setup is currently: 440cc injectors, Blitz Access ECU, Apexi SAFC II, 264 BC cams, HKS timing gears.

I don't like huge amounts of lag, so I was thinking about the 60-1 turbo kit with .70 AR. My goal is 400 rwhp.

TAKE A LOOK AT MY THREAD.

I Bought A Turbo Kit From Aaron and Asked Him To Make It For A 7MGTE And He Said That He Could And Advised Me On The Turbo And Turbo Size.

I Bought The Kit And It Was Not Too Great.

Take A Look At My Build Thread....

Had To Pay To Get A Part Modified That I Was Told That It Would Work.

I Called And He Said He Could Not Do Anything About It, Not Even Return And Send Another One Because It Could Have Been A Faulty Part.

DON'T FLAME ME! I CALLED AND GAVE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT TO CLEAR EVERYTHING UP, BUT GUESS NOT.

You tried to order something that wasn't for your engine model but Aaron tried to make it work. I'm sure you knew the risk of purchasing this item, everything that I bought from Aaron was great, the upgraded ct2657 ran perfectly with no problems and the all the little things that I bought from them since 2005 also had no problems what so ever. You get the bang for your buck without loosing the quality of the product.

As far as the parts used in the kits, I have a DM single mani and 46mm wastegate that they sell. I have had no issues out of either one. The quality of the manifold impressed me. It's reinforced and the welds look great. Mine had no slag in the collectors either.

I'm on a 1.5J so the manifold sits a bit higher, but it fits just fine in the MK3 chassis with the downpipe just barely clearing.

:1zhelp:So I just bought the 60-1 kit. Installed it on my car but the boost doesn't kick in till like 5000rpm. no vac leaks. no boost leaks. It will build boost up to 14 when set but to get to 14 is like waiting for water to boil! :aigo:

I do have an exhaust leak cause one of the holes on the manifold doesn't line up with the head. Please Help!

do you have an EBC? if you do you might have the wrong gain setting.

also, what size is your intercooler/piping?

I do have a EBC but even when it isn't hooked up it still takes forever to spool up. I'm only getting like 3psi at 5krpms. Finally around 6k I'm making like 5-6psi.
IC piping 2.5" Intercooler is little bigger than stock.

It comes out of vac normally but it stays at 0-1 till till around 5k. I have to take it up to 7-8k to get 7psi.
I don't think it should but my exhaust leak won't have anything to do with it, would it?

Not even! Ive got my old 2 bolt flange Tial 38 on my 67 with no problems. Look for a used but known working wastegate. Make or have made a flange to adapt it to the 4 bolt pattern if it won't bolt directly up. Voila, new gate, no funky boost, and back on the road. If you want, Ill make you a deal on my knockoff gate that came with it. It just sits here collecting dust.

Thanks, but no more knock off versions for me. I've had too much trouble with them in the past, not only with mine but with friends cars too.

This isn't very hard, my dad and I made it in the garage with hand tools and a tap. 2 holes for gate, 4 holes into mani. Its not super precision CNC or anything, but it works like a charm! KISS method.
