mounting it upside down would accomplish nothing because then the outlets would be up on the top going right into the lower portion of the headlight area. LOL would make it damn near impossible.

I feel that I am going to have to make provisions to relocate the oil cooler, and possibly even alter the mounts on the overflow. I feel like Im doing something way wrong, because this thing just will not fit up high enough to not sit below the bumper. I think I may need to trim the latch support as well, but I'm worried it may be a support brace, and i dont want to sacrifice any integrity in my car. Can anyone comment on the safeness of trimming that bracket?

Yeah so pricey! Its really not all that difficult, Im just not sure how integral that bracket is. but Im picking up some metal today and when i trim it, Im going to brace it with metal so the strength is retained. maybe paint it black so its not all ghetto fabbed. Ill let you know how everything goes and take pics of some stuff along the way too

ive had mine installed for a while now. all, i did, was basically make two like W brackets and fasten them from from the top on the front support, and another s bracket from the bottom, off the support as well, and its totally rock solid, the only thing is that your going to have to move the oil cooler, and the over flow tank, but those are easy to fab up brackets for, ill try to get pics up of mine.

please do.. I ouldnt get mine to sit up there far enough so that it doesnt hang below the bumper. And yeah both need to be relocated as you said. But for some odd reason, the lower bend will hang below my bumper (91 with oem front lip).

i Installed mine the other day and found that the two supplied straps work good when mounted in the location of the oil cooler lines. since you are moving the cooler anyways it doesnt hurt and both are level. Also had to cut and notch the hood latch support to make room for ic which sucked but all works and is secure. only bad thing is i got my res mounted down lower which now that i think about it ill have to move it since it is lower than the rad cap.

LOL exactly. I just took it for a test drive, and I definitely had an unknown leak in my stock intercooler piping, couldn' t hear it but I guess it was only leaking under boost so it wouldnt build boost as high as it should have. However this fixed all that! I'm very satisfied after install. Here are the pics :

my buddy has this kit on hit 88t. other than he got it off ebay from cxracing i think. its the same thing. its fitment is pretty good. my only complaint is how the ic outlet is on the other side. not ideal for a stockish 7m set-up.

yea id like the ic outlet on the same sides...and plus it looks like if your cars really low that, that your lower ic pipe might scrap...but other than that good deal...and yes cx makes that kit

does any1 have pics of the other ic kit by cx racing...the 1 that has the outlets on same side? im interested in that kit but no1 seems to have pics of it installed

Yeah I agree, I got it so that its above the bumper, but the intercooler is so damn large because of that lower port like you mentioned.

I just put the diftmotion intercooler kit on my car. It was sort of a pain in the ass to install. The end tanks on the intercooler are cast aluminum and I pulled the caps off (the caps say CX racing right on them) and wiped my finger in the corners as far as I could reach and there was grit like sand residue inside. I blew it out the best I could before I installed it.

Here is my main gripe: the blowoff valve is garbage. Within less than 60 miles of installing this and driving in temperatures below 65 degrees the plastic (yes plastic) valve is bowing visibly outward and sitting cockeyed on the shaft. I'm betting this thing wouldn't last a day in summer temperatures.

I would have preferred no blowoff valve included rather than a junk one with the HKS ssqv style mount.
Also the sound it makes is kinda like a "tweet". I guess that's what the HKS ssqv is supposed to sound like. I think it sounds lame. Powerful cars shouldn't
"tweet" in my opinion. :nono:
