I am thinking I will have to do just that. I spent some time today and this is what I happened.
Took the line off the car again. Checked the threads on the master and the line. Master threads look fine as far as I can see. The threads on this line look the same as the first Driftmotion line that I installed. All of them are pefect except the one closest to the flare. It looks like the thread was flattened but not cross threaded. It still threads in easily by hand. This leads me to believe that the hole may not be tapped deep enough.
I then took the line off and threaded it into the old master. It threaded all the way in by hand and then stopped and came tight. It felt exactly the way you would expect it to feel in a perfect world. My theory is that on this master the rubber where the line flare meets the master cylinder has been compressed and hardened in this shape over time. With the new master the rubber is fresh and larger. This explains why it feels different when tightening the new line into the new master. It is compressing the rubber making it more difficult to turn but not coming tight because the flare has not fully seated.
Does this make any sense or did I fall down over the weekend and hit my head kinda hard? lol
EDIT: took a pic of the first Driftmotion line. Looks the same as the second one now. Guess I am buying two of them at least. lol I would get pics of the master but from what I can see it looks fine and I don't feel like pulling it out unless I have to. I don't fit well under my dash.
