Driftmotion AFPR: pics for inspiration

Hey guys,

I'm thinking of buying the AFPR kit Driftmotion has for sale in the next couple days here. I wanted to see some pics of how some of you guys have set it up for some good ideas. My set up includes an FFIM so everything will be exposed but I wanted some ideas on how to make it look neat.

yeah that looks nice, but the FFIM is the problem. I'm worried it wont clear on the strut tower. It's a pretty tight fit there. thanks for the pic

Well, at some point the fuel feed and return must span the gap between the engine and the chassis. How is it significant if that span is between the fuel rail and the pressure regulator, or if it's between the regulator and the line to the tank? I'd think that it's the line between the pump and rail which is the highest danger factor anyway. There's not a lot of slack there between the chassis and the pressure connector at the motor mount to allow a lot of movement of the engine block, nor is there a lot of slack between that and the fuel rail to allow movement of the intake manifold.

I understand that the line between regulator and fuel rail is under pressure, however given that the feed line is as well, with less slack, I don't think that this adds much danger level. really, we're counting on the system to shut down the fuel pump when tach signal is lost.

The location of the fuel line from body to engine is given great thought by the engineers for survivability in a collision. Adding a second flexible high-pressure line tied to the body at the opposite end of the engine (and running 1 inch from the alternator output lead in most of the installs I've seen) will be a design detail you will never see in any production automobile. But immortality is an assumption found in the demographics of most of the kids who own these cars now.
