Can anyone give me any tips to drifting my supra??

i dont have any problem getting it sideways my problem is holding it there...

ill come at the corner in 3rd or 4th, clutch in 2nd then ebrake (while holding clutch of course) then i come of the clutch as im dropping the ebrake and give it gas.

some times its almost seems like turbo lag cause sometimes the revs will go up theres a slight pause where nothing really happens then my boost gauge jumps up and i spin out...

is this just a i need to practice more kind of thing or am i doing something wrong??

Body roll is a bitch. Stiffen up the ride and it will be easier. Also the diff is a problem if it is old. My friend was telling me my LSD wasn't locking too well. So I am looking into getting a KAAZ LSD.

if you actually wanna slide it a lot, rather than just breakin traction around a few corners in town when it's wet, then go with coilovers. lowering springs are okay but they're more for looks and not really that stiff, but i guess that'd be depending on your struts. tokico's are pretty sick but i'd just go with coilovers. megan racing, $900 for a full set. start savin.

Sounds okay. Practice is that main part. I would start looking at other mods though. If you want the easy way out on the diff weld it. Coilovers would be a big plus. Also... Steering angle sucks on MK3's but from what I hear you can use s13/14 aftermarket Tie Rods to get a bit more angle.

but like does my drifting technique sound good to you guys? like maybe its is a the dif and to much body roll??

well the last time i tried to drift anything i rolled my friend's jeep cherokee, soooo... haha the technique sounds good though, whatever's gonna kick it sideways and keep it there. you have to remember you're drivin a tank though... i'd take out all the weight i could and get rid of the body roll.

We just got our local track shut down too. I keep it off the streets though and just wait to hit up track days with friends.

i just called my friend and asked and yeah to drift at the events you need a FULL cage and now you need to be invited...you can just enter...

shit like i can afford to get a full cage put into my car...and its not like i can do it myself haha i can weld but it looks like shit but i got no access to a bender

Dont forget tires cost a fortune. Drifting is not a sport to enter on a tight budget, let alone the wrong car to begin with. No budget, poor car choice and your already 2 steps behind and not being in cali is 3rd strike.

oh shit every weekend?!?!

haha i would need a 2nd job just to pay for tires!

we do have a very fun to drive mountain road thats got some good corners and like 2 straights that you can get some speed on but its a little more dangerous haha

and the road there is for shit...crazy potholes that are like inches deep and got some traffic if you go before 9ish

but after like 11 pretty much nobody on the road but other tuners or guys hoping to get lucky with their dates haha (at the end theres a suuuper nice lookout with a awesome view of waikiki and manoa)

Practice,Practice,Practice and than get some alright coil overs and some s13/s14 "tein tie rod end spacers" not tie rods than you should be good for awhile big things are also brakes now if you don't have big money to dish out get ss brake lines and the one thing everybody over looks on these cars "cooling the brakes" just go to home depot and get some plastic air ducts put the front two were your fogs are and run them to the front brakes and there rear ones run a lil lower than the car so you catch some air.

Now you should be good for awhile than after you have done these thing witch are cheap exept for the coil overs you want to look at your diff if your supra is your DD DO NOT WELD THE DIFF I've seen people do it but not a good idea if it's your fuck around car or race car than you could do it to be cheap but afre toy have tho's other mods you should save for a good diff.

Remember don't don't blame the car because your not drifting good you should mod your car around your skill leavel the better you get the better your car should be built.

Also if your realy into drifting the supra isnt the best car weather it's the o mighty MKIV or MKIII because it's big heavy parts are hard to find and it's not as sanpy as other cars but you could make a nice drift car out of one of theses cars.

Hope I was able to help you out on this one and the one other thing I could tell you is be sale and have fun.peace

I had no problem gething my car to go sideways. The thing that got me was that i lost oil pressure and my motor just gave out. Have you tried to clutch kick your car? I like it better then the e-brake. I use the e-brake when im losing momentum during a corner. You can drift with out suspension but it's so damn hard and it looks like gello all over the place. I was using n/a cams and i changed my fluid in my diff and my lsd hooked nicely. I would waste tires every weekend..lol. ( :naughty: ). It also depends for how long you are breaking them loose.
