^^^^^ Interesting....

I'm on a stock ecu / no piggy back using only a Lex Afm screw and AFPR to work with the Afrs and well I'm not 100% sure of my power, I also use adjustable cam gears.

I've now beat cars that have proven to me to trap 112mph in the quarter....

I've boosted as much as 19psi with my setup running pig rich (10.9afr) and this was on a 60-1 CT.

FOR ANYONE WHO READS MY COMMENT

I am in no way shape or form telling you It's smart to do what I'm doing or safe please invest in tuning devices! All I wanted to point out is it is possible to run 350-380whp on a 100% stock ecu maybe more.

No worries, I'm not putting any of that stuff on till I have all of it. For now mostly the stock stuff going back into place.

I guess I forgot to update my list:

Plans for stage 2:
T4 (Got it! Turbonetics T58 / P Trim)
550's
Lexus AFM (Got it!)
AFPR
2.5" IC piping
Upgraded FMIC
Walbro FP
Ext. wastegate of some sort (Got it!)
Tubular T4 manifold (Got it!)
Fuel management of some sort

None of this is going on the car yet, no worries.

Did a little more research on the intake manifold thing (removed from list) seems the stock manifold can handle more flow than I need. The throttle body I don't know about though... Is that something I should be looking into changing out?

"Also if you need 550s we have a set here from my car, along with a ton of HKS electronics which would help you go well past what you are looking for. VPC, EVC, Fcon, Turbo Timer....."
I'll have to hit you up when I have more $$$ built up, always looking for a good deal as long as I have money to spend :)

Thank you, I have read the same on quite a few accounts that it is possible if proper precautions are taken. I'm not sure that I trust myself to not overlook anything and blow crap up over some simple sensor reading somewhere.

The adjustable cam gears are another pc I may add to the list, the ability to take advantage of the extra psi and stuff more into the cylinder and reduce unnecessary overlap is an attractive feature. You feel the difference once you installed them?

Here is the thing.....With all those shiny bits your throwing at it.....If that is a stock ECU....Your not going to get anywhere close to your power goals. Hell I would be surprised if you got anywhere on boost. Maybe a few psi but nothing more. You are going to hit FC so dang fast......
Also if you need 550s we have a set here from my car, along with a ton of HKS electronics which would help you go well past what you are looking for. VPC, EVC, Fcon, Turbo Timer.....

You can get close to 400rwhp on a ct2657 on 16 psi with stock everything but hardpipe/ic/550s/lexafm/walbro255/EBC or even a MBC.

Those that are smart try for a little bit of tuning for more reliability..

I'm doing something similar.. Just stocking up on parts for when the event happens that I'll go t4.

What's the turbonetics T58 rated at?

If you go standalone with a MAP sensor, you won't need the lex afm along with the ISCV.

Very true, I'll probably use it now rather than later tho- Still need to research the effect it will have with the stock injectors.

Lex afm with stock injectors will cause a lean condition as the MAF is seeing the same airflow but it's getting 25% more air. The ecu doesn't see this so it doesn't add more fuel to the engine so if you do the math.. 25% more air and the same amount of fuel=boom.

There are some people that have done it with ways to add in fuel(SAFC), monitor AFR's (wideband) and bump up the base fuel pressure(AFPR) but I'm not sure how long they stayed like this or the engine lasted.

Almost had it all together tonight, getting too tired and impatient so it will have to wait ( finding myself muttering rude things about Japanese designers, so it is time to quit).

Just a few small parts left to put on. Couple parts I have no idea where they go yet and lots of bolts... Radiator, a couple exhaust connections to snug up. Still have a coolant hose with banjo unit that I have not found a home for yet... Anyways ill share some pics hit the showers and try to get some sleep.

Ok,I'm down to the last few tidbits, but I did successfully fire the motor and it was surging around like crazy (vac leak at forgotten line.....)

I think all of the lines are hooked up properly now, I'll try to fire it up tonight once the battery is charged.

Yet to install:

Pass. wheel & tie rod

PS pump belt and hoses (hoses disintegrated upon assembly)

Forgotten PS bracket

A/C belt

Shifter and console stuff

Hood

:) Excited for the first drive :)

Bah humbug......

Still surging but not nearly as bad. Jumping between 1000 and 2000, I think I need to go through the IAC. I'll post video just for kicks tonight.

Got it, diagnosed by pulling the ISC valve hose from the accordian hose and plugging both holes. Idled perfectly. I pulled the ISCV and found it was stuck open. Disassembled the whole valve to find the bearings and shaft seized solid inside, evidence of past moisture (white deposits, rust pitting etc.) So I cleaned up the bearings and re-greased them. Seems to work ok now, sticks a little on account of the poor condition of the bearings.

Just need to top up the trans and drop it off the jackstands and go for my first drive-

Shizznuggets.....

I may have installed my clutch disk backwards! It looks ok from what I can see, but it is displaying all of the symptoms....

Sux Sux Sux!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Needless to say, my test drive was cut short.

-Push the clutch in, wont go into gear with car running
-Slave is actuating the fork and pulls the throwout bearing, I can watch the fingers on the pressure plate moving.
-Adjusted the clutch pedal free play (quite a chore) it now pushes the arm so far something starts to grind, still no release.

I can see between the fingers of the pressure plate all the way to the splines and it appears that the longer part of the clutch disk hub faces the transmission. Is this the right direction?

Everything fit together so nice going in...

I noticed huge differences in spool time and when I got it perfect boost came in so strong

Just wanted to post a quick update, been working out lots of little gremlins, exhaust leak, spark plug gap, bad blower, center support bearing, squeaky speedometer, missing check engine light bulb and sockets.... Which lead to code 52.
Just got rid of code 52 by way of ks rewire, OMG it performs soooooooo much better, night and day difference. Now I will have to try to not get in trouble with it....

Anyway, was excited and wanted to share the joy :)
