those are some wicked tires. as far as what fits w/o rubbing, it really depends on the wheel size, offset and suspension mods. for 16 or 17" rims there are very little options. a 26" tire will fit no worries, 27" tire will fit depending on offset and how low the car sits.

My car is pretty low also. As a matter of fact, the tires sit under the 1/4 with the slicks on it. Looks cool to :)

I havent run them yet, but I have 26x10.5 ET streets on NA MKIV rears.
Ill have coilovers so the adjustment isnt really an issue

Is this all we can fit under the rear wheels?...Even on a 10 inch weld pro star?
I'd like to fit a 275-50-15 atleast

A 275 is 10.8 inches wide, so youre jus gonna gain .3 of an inch goin with a 275 as opposed to a 10.5.

Now goin to a 315 would be a jump, its about 12.4 inches wide.

BUT, a 10.5, hell, even an 8.5 inch ET Street will hook plenty. Ive seen a Mustang rip the chassis launching on a 26x10.5 ET Street, twisted it like a pretzel so Im sure it hooked well enough.

well i have a good idea what to do with my 6 or so extra sawblades

now the next question is where to buy radials?? hmmm

john

I would rather have a 15 inch tire but for the money, a 16 inch hooiser QT pro on stock sawblades works pretty good. But like you said, what are we going to do with all the leftover wheels we have around.

Ive tried a couple different combos, and the 26x10.5 on the sawblade is the best for the $$.

The welds don't offer enough backspacing to fit a bigger tire than you can on the sawblades. If Weld offered a 15x8 with 6.5" backspacing, then we'd be in business, but they dont, so a 28x10.5 rubs when she squats. A 26" would probably be ok on the welds, btu at that point, you might as well use the sawblades and save yourself $300.

Did some looking..They also make a 15 x 8 with a 5.5 BS and a 15 x 9 with a 5.5. BS or is 5.5 not enough to tuck the tires under the chassis?

5.5 is not enough to maximize tire size. The best would be a 15x8 with 6.5. as i said, i ran the 15x8/5.5, and it fit, but with 28x10.5s they rubbed hard....26x8.5s would fit fine, but then youre sacrificing 2" of section width. Although if your car isnt lowered much, the 26x10.5s might tuck even with the 5.5....its gonna vary from car to car.

And yes, i tubbed my supra :) will be finished in the spring.

EDIT- keep in mind that the tire sizes i use are for the MT ET Streets, different tires are sized differently, such as the MT slicks, in which a 15x10.5 slick is the same width as a 15x12.5 et street, as the slicks are measured by tread width, and the ET streets are measured by section width

28" tire is a tough fit. 26" or 27" will fit w/o 6.5"
