hey guys, I just bought a set of door visors off e-bay for my mk3. ( the metal type with rubber outter) problem is they didn't come with the clips to attatch them to the doors. any idea where I could score those clips?
yeah rain guards, sorry. Anyway, I bought them knowing they didn't have the clips, they were waaaaaaaay cheaper, and I'm in no hurry to put them on. I just need to start doing some research so I can find them.
IMHO The method I Used might Be a Good Idea for you.
Me and A Buddy had two similar situations on our hands, We both Purchased Rain Guards From an Ebay Seller that weren't coming with clips on them, The First idea was to Go with a good Quality 3m Double Sided Tape but Even with a thorough cleaning and Rubdown the visors weren't holding up to expectations and actually weren't "sticking" to the Surface of The Trim that would hold it on. My Buddy Kept the 3M DS tape with a bit of Fishing Line and went on a Highway run only to have one side damn near detach and was literally hanging by a thread. My option was To Paint them up as best as I could, Trim Black with a clear coat to Cover up that ridiculous SS Rain Guard center and Rivet them onto the trim. Keep in mind this was to Just another project supra as we were working on 3 at the time. They are in place and Will NEVER move But look great IMO. Also If I ever got fed up with them well.... S.O.L. But I have no complaints and they cover properly Considering its been raining alot lately I'd Present pics But They Fit Flush With a bit of drilling and Quality Smallish Rivets. :biglaugh:
