an 87 turbo targa:

My dome lights don't work. the fuse is fine. the lights on doors work, the ones in the visors work but the two lights on the ceiling don't work at all. (i changed the bulbs twice and both times, the lights don't turn on).

How do i get them to work?

this lighting/electrical stuff sucks.

haha, its just a bad elec connection. i think this must come stock with every supra, cause almost all of us have had the same problem.

chances are the rivets used to connect the wiring are corroded. take a punch about the same size as the rivet and give them a good tap to make sure everything has a good connection. if you're ambitious, you can pinpoint the troublesome bastard with an ohmmeter, but if you're like me, you give every one of em a tap for good measure.

Can someone give me a solid explanation of how to take the cover off?

Everytime I try I feel like I'll bust it off. Only 1 bulb is out too.

that's the only way to take it off. reach around (i use a panel tool) and pry from where your rear view mirror screws onto the roof. the thing will feel like it's about to shatter into millions of pieces, and when it comes off it's gonna sound like you've just broken the thing into, yes, a million pieces (itll come off after the tremendous snap). cue the bitch scream (happened to me when i was working with lexan.) and then proceed to figure out what's wrong with your dome lights.

I hate issues like this, and I have working dome lights but I never use them they stay in the off position, it makes my approach to houses stealthy, other than my loud ass HKS Blitz (HKS DP and HKS cat with Blitz NUR catback) exhaust system LMAO
