Dome Light Only Works When Doors Are Open

^ when my doors are opent he dome light will turn on *both bulbs* but with the switches the lights will not. Everything seems to be connected properly though. If it matters, I have to hold the 12V connector at a slight "up" angle to get the door light to come on. Thank you. and If it is the rivets, how do I take them out to put in new ones? thank you!

try taking the screws out(the ones that hold the unit to the roof) and putting them back in.

I vaguely recall something about the diode(s) in the light assembly popping and causing this.

You don't remove the rivets, you just tighten them. Though loose rivets usually causes the opposite problem.

Diodes? Yeah it's real annoying the buttons don't work lol especially because with my luck night is always the time I need to read something!

I rewired mine without the diodes, so that the switch on the right controls both lights. I rewired the switch on the left to control aux power to an external device - GPS, Camera, etc. I also picked up a rechargeable LED flashlight that sits in the cig. lighter socket in case I need light elsewhere.

Diodes? yeah if I can't fix it by tightening the rivets I have no problem doing ^^^ since when I need the light I usualy turn them both on anyways....
