Dome Light and Pass Window wont work.

Randomly both items (dome light in any mode or config, and pass window switch) along with my driver vanity mirror no longer are operational. I was searching and found a few tips but it seems other items that are fuse related are working. (ie: Ignition Key Illumination, Door Courtesy Light, Driver's Window, etc)

i was wondering if there is a common ground point on the interior harness that could have possibly corroded or bacame loose over time. All these items randomly stopped working at the same time.

I will try grounding each circuit to the frame somewhere to test but if there is a cleaner solution on the dash or interior harness that would help a lot.

Any tips would be appreciated in finding the location of internal cabin ground harness points to check..

Aluminium rivets and brass terminals in the Dome assembly are 99% of the time the cause.

Pull the assembly and use a bolt as a punch and peen the rivets down a bit and you should be good for another 15+ years.

^^^ Thanks I read that..... I will attempt that tomorrow. I just found it very odd that everything failed simultaneously. I will check my pass window switch tomorrow and try the rivet fix.

OK so the audience was right... the strange rivets were loose. I just tapped them closed with a center punch and I dropped a little solder on them. the grounds were also loose so I tack soldered them too.

Lights now work.

I also Fixed the short in the Driver side vanity mirror. - broken wire in, visor arm.

I have not tackled the passenger window yet, as I think I will deal with that after the tranny swap. I am suspecting other bad ground for that one
