If the end of the trans has a colar on it then the throw out bearing needs to have one to that fits nice... it should be greased and slide nice...

I dont know what the end of the trans looks like... but there are mainly 2 kinda throw out bearings... ones that slide up and down colar and ones held in place by fork..

That's the cheap replacement throw out bearing assembly from local auto parts. They give out quick, and tend to squeak. They also don't sit quite right on the oem pressure plate. O'Rielly's can get the stock replacement bearing that IJ suggests.

the throw out i got from toyota looked so much more beefy......it also needed to be pressed onto the collar.....i put the bearing in the oven at 120 degrees and the collar in the freezer and waited for 20 min and it sliped together pretty easy.

Metal Shrinks when it gets cold, and expands when heated. MMMKAY.

The Bearing and Collar deal with extreme cold and warmth. So that + Ians vice method and you're golden.

Im not retarded i understand thermal expansion. I was thinking about the grease inside of the bearing. Wouldn't extreame heat kinda break down the grease kinda premature? anyway a clutch shop offered to push the old one of and the new one on for$15 so ima go that route.

that bearing has the potential to get hell of alot hotter then 120 degrees....usually bearing grease can handle very hot temps...i could have probably let it sit in 200 degree with no issues.

and what ij said...if its not something you have done before it can screw you up if you dont get it right....but alot of the parts i make at work require tighter fits then that so ive learned how to do it well....vise is easier but the oven was here and the vise was over there kinda thing lol
