fter calling around, every one wants about 275-325 to even consider making one.. and if i find a useble donar drive shaft it will be about 75 for the labor and 45 for the tube..

use able meaning one you can replace the u-joints in, being toyota didn't make the joints replaceble..

although i did learn it's a 23 spline, and that alot of small pick up's have the splin i need?

either way , today was a shitty day. and i feel like just parking the supra.

well i figured i'd make an update.

i've been hunting for a ghost sound it seems,

while listenin with a stephiscope ive probed just about every where on the block and cant find the location of the noise,

i thought i had found it last week when i pin pointed the noise on the timming cover so i removed that. and the noise is just as loud, i guess the plate was transmitting the nosie..

i really think it's piston number 1 slapping. thats the rod that was knockin. it was the first rod we took the rod bolts out of, and also the rod/piston my partener droped i belive,

well i finaly solderd the wires to my maft pro, and holy crap, i can actualy tune my car now, instead of my tun changing every time the maft pro unit moved. or i shut it off lol my afr is more steady then is used to be.

i have done a few runs on her but i am tring not to drive her to much for the time being incase servre engine damgine occures....

any ways, paying for the block work on my n/a block on monday. joec is lending me the cash :icon_razz

im having the n/a blocked decked & surfaced, bored, and checked for line hone. although, he wanted my arp main studs to line hone her, so that will be the last thing done before engine goes back togther..

welll,

time for another update,

my motor is pretty much done, their droping the crank into her and going to make her a shortblock so far i have paid 900 on this bitch, and still owe some where around 250 more for the assembly...

well. that noise drove me nuts, and when shooting for big numbers you want every thing perfect. so thats why i have torn my block apart 2/3 times..

FUCKIN EXPENSIVE!

any ways,

a litttle list of what has been done, and what will be going into my car this weekend.

the block is a freshly prepped turbo block

i have set asside my turbo block that had a crack in the deck, i will re-used this block for my mkii build next month.

the crank has been lightened by 1.3 pounds, including making it perfectly round (so it rolls on the ground adding to the perfect balencing effect)
and also has been knife edged,
oil galeries have also been cleaned and i belive he chammfeed the holes a bit to clean them up too.
this time around due to paranoia, i tol my machineist if their is any reason to go ten under, do it, so he went ahead and did the crank and rod's i belive.

the rod's have been de-stressed, beam polished and reszed with arp bolts
(important must re-size rod ends when you change your rod bolts, NO EXCEPTIONS) the rod's weren't shot pen , my machinest said no one in town does it correctly and they need to be shiped out to a company he trust's, so i had passed at that point in time.

the block has been hot tanked and flushed, all new core plugs,
i also had the crank bore's aligned bored/honed for use of the arp hardware.

i have purchased new .20 over pistons. and i am having them shortblock this time.

the deck was machined to 25ra, and my head is patiently waiting to go back on..

___________________________________
this time around i am swaping in my 5-spd r154 that i finished rebuild my self last month, and will be coupled wiht a stock toyota clutch, a fidanza aluminum flywheel, with new friction surface. and also has a higher pressure clutch cover, im hoping this set up will hold strong clear into the 400ftlbs range ive been hearing that a new stock clutch assembly is good for around 300-350, so im hoping the clamping force increase will help aid in torque ratting.

a one peice steel drive shaft is in the works, but for now i am struttin the stocker to get me buy.

i am also started a baffle and trap door style oil pan. depending on when i finish it, i might have to drop my subframe at school before the end of the year to install my new modified pan,

key thing is to get this sucker back in my car i need my supra!

well i'll bring this back form the dead real quick

after having a bunch of rebuilding and what not, i swaped to a rebuild 5spd that i did, and is working great,

i have been able to go to the track once, and i ran high 13's / flat 14.00's which is awsome but i couldn't turn my boost up past ten psi, and i blame that for not running any faster..

i have be able to smell clutch on hard 3rd and fourth gear pulls , so im thinking it's possible im not able to load the engine enough??

yet again i pull my waste gate line off and she'll over boost real quick to 20psi...

of course hitting fuel cut but i was able to log a spike and spin the tires hard from a roll in second.. so she must be holding some what??

any ways

luck of my battle begins, i had a friend riddin with me to go to a fight, and when we arrived he opened the door while we werre still moving, and i grabbed the e-brake, needles to say he didn't have his seat belt on, flew out of my car and slid next to it, holding on to the door for dear life, oh yeah i was making a left when i grabed the ebreak, hince why he flew out..

so my passenger door doesn't open all the way, seems a bit tweaked, and has chipped the paint on my fender.

i thought about reporting it to the insurance, but father tells my i dont have the coverage on the car for them to fix it..

so i guess it's up to me to try ...

i'll post pic's latter..

www pictures who needs' them

any ways, i have some more updates

after skrewing with my engine and rebuilding it sevral times i belive it was an exhaust bracket that was loose that was rattling..

motor is running strong!!

i have purchased a clean 87T 5spd car and swaped my motor and tranny into it.,

and less then 500 mile's after the swap i loose first gear in my tranny, i heard a snap and a bang after shifting out of third.

i was getting on it but not power shifting or dumping the clutch.

so im not sure what broke, but as soon as my mkii his a stand still i'll pull the tranny out and find out what happened..

ahah, it'll happen some thing like that

the 7m in my red car (now white car) made 324hp on the stock ct26, im puttin an upgraded ct26 on her 57trim, and will then re-dyno, and install the motor into the mkii,

my mkiii will get a stand alone system and i have future plans of running one of the 2 cars off e85

thanks!
although shinny , im never seem to be satisfied, i'll be having the rod's blue printed, and also polished & balenced.

im going to look into coating the piston aswell, under side, skirts, maybe the ring lands-grooves. and the combustion chambers, i will also have the head combustions chamber coated.

i heard there's no use in doing the domes and pistons if the extra heat is waisted in the head. you want to keep the heat (energy) in the combustion chamber.

i remember the pistons had to be shipped out, so i would imagine the head is going to be the same way.

needles to say im getting excited know this build is on it's way. and having a 100% cleaner shell to put the motor in only make's it that much more worth it.
