welll,
time for another update,
my motor is pretty much done, their droping the crank into her and going to make her a shortblock so far i have paid 900 on this bitch, and still owe some where around 250 more for the assembly...
well. that noise drove me nuts, and when shooting for big numbers you want every thing perfect. so thats why i have torn my block apart 2/3 times..
FUCKIN EXPENSIVE!
any ways,
a litttle list of what has been done, and what will be going into my car this weekend.
the block is a freshly prepped turbo block
i have set asside my turbo block that had a crack in the deck, i will re-used this block for my mkii build next month.
the crank has been lightened by 1.3 pounds, including making it perfectly round (so it rolls on the ground adding to the perfect balencing effect)
and also has been knife edged,
oil galeries have also been cleaned and i belive he chammfeed the holes a bit to clean them up too.
this time around due to paranoia, i tol my machineist if their is any reason to go ten under, do it, so he went ahead and did the crank and rod's i belive.
the rod's have been de-stressed, beam polished and reszed with arp bolts
(important must re-size rod ends when you change your rod bolts, NO EXCEPTIONS) the rod's weren't shot pen , my machinest said no one in town does it correctly and they need to be shiped out to a company he trust's, so i had passed at that point in time.
the block has been hot tanked and flushed, all new core plugs,
i also had the crank bore's aligned bored/honed for use of the arp hardware.
i have purchased new .20 over pistons. and i am having them shortblock this time.
the deck was machined to 25ra, and my head is patiently waiting to go back on..

this time around i am swaping in my 5-spd r154 that i finished rebuild my self last month, and will be coupled wiht a stock toyota clutch, a fidanza aluminum flywheel, with new friction surface. and also has a higher pressure clutch cover, im hoping this set up will hold strong clear into the 400ftlbs range ive been hearing that a new stock clutch assembly is good for around 300-350, so im hoping the clamping force increase will help aid in torque ratting.
a one peice steel drive shaft is in the works, but for now i am struttin the stocker to get me buy.
i am also started a baffle and trap door style oil pan. depending on when i finish it, i might have to drop my subframe at school before the end of the year to install my new modified pan,
key thing is to get this sucker back in my car i need my supra!
