Does the JDM GTE ecu have a speed limiter?

Ahhh yes...SPD input. Not a great idea since the ECU uses it to control AFR during accel/decel. Input to idle control too. Not to mention the mischief it would cause to an auto tranny (depending on where it's cut) ;)

The TCCS book says its used for fuel cut off during decel with the TB plate closed, for timing corrections during idle due to changing load, and for adjustment to AFR during accel/decel. It looks like fuel economy type trims more than anything.

I come from a land down under
Cool always wondered what it actully does :)

So nothing that would be a showstopper if disconnected.
(seen a couple of JDM cars here that have had it snipped at the ecu so Cruise still functions)

Read the thread. JDM engine and transmission has absolutely nothing to do with it. Speed cut is programmed into the TCCS. It doesn't matter if your TCCS is from a wild purpleback monkey from the most remote island in Japan. If that JDM monkey has a JDM ECU, it will have speed cut.

I did READ the thread, and I do have a JDM ECU, and my car will go 157mph redlined in 5th gear(speedo indicated ~180mph but I have a 3.91 gear and 195-70-14 tires)
I have never had a problem with any sort of speed cut and I am 100% positive it is a JDM ecu.

Maybe it could be becasue its from a digital dash car, maybe I have a broken sensor.... But I know for a fact that I can redline my 7mgte celica in 5th no problem. Just telling you, I did read the damn thread and I dont have a speed cut problem. no need to be a smartass

So, I have some lube ready... :naughty: haha, but does the jdm ecu still have the same pinout as the usdm one? The reason I ask is because I can't find my ecu's number in the EPC catolog that was posted earlier....

89661-14230 or...

175000-1462 12v 26P 16P 22P

I know it's an A/T one, but was going to use it in a manual transmission.

Ok sweet thanks, I thought so, am confused still why when I try and find that part number its not listed. Trying to figure out if I would need a different pinout then the one I have, since I am making my own harness. :aigo:

shouldnt change anything all you have to do is by pass the neutral safety switch which is really simple. and also something else for reverse lights im looking into that atm. also be sure you always have your car in neutral or atleast have the clutch pressed in while starting.

I know this is an old thread BUT...

My ecm was okay. Just got my hands on a auto JDM ecu FNALLY for my car since I don't have egr

My car is a stick-my ecm is for an auto-no big deal. Car will run BUT in regards to the hks piggyback for the speed limiter which one should I get(auto or stick???)? And where should I buy it from? I can't believe I am adding another piggyback...
