All factory Std cars have a 180kph limited fitted in japan, As std yes they can be bypassed, both my Ga70's had limiters! one bypassed with Rebic lc other done by previous owner.

I think my ecu is bad
I removed my egr a long time ago. I have all the HKS piggyback crap.
I read up on the egr thing and figured why not be safe at the same time since I might need a new ecu.

Bad ECU is highly unlikely, more than likely you have a tuning issue...

I've been running 221km/h with JDM ECU from 91 engine ( from a soarer according the fact that mid sump pan engine are from soarer?)

I have a JDM 7mgte engine trans and harness in my celica..... I dont believe I have a speed cut, I can hit a speedo indicated 190mph, which I believe is actually about 160 mph lol.

the setup is out of a digital dash car apparently.

Read the thread. JDM engine and transmission has absolutely nothing to do with it. Speed cut is programmed into the TCCS. It doesn't matter if your TCCS is from a wild purpleback monkey from the most remote island in Japan. If that JDM monkey has a JDM ECU, it will have speed cut.

Fixed it for you. (Make a SIG!) ;)

Sorry, I would assume it does have a speed cut. :(

You'd have to throw another piggyback in the mix (a speed cut defender), unless it is a mines ecu. (And these are rare from what i hear in yellow plug form.)

Tuning? I am throwing a code 52. I replaced my knock sensors with new ones, new rewire kit(despite my factory harness being new) and still getting the code. Last thing to swap is the ecu to see what is going on per factory manual.

I have read in the past the maps in the jdm ECU are different as well. I just thought maybe my piggybacks may not work with that either-oops. I will try it. If it gets rid of the code I will buy hks ad on number 202...

I can't beleive the amount of mixed, BS responses in this thread. If you have no idea, or even if you aren't 100% sure of your answer, keep it to yourself.

It seems most of you guys have no idea who you are talking to...low post count doesn't mean "noob who I can feed BS to"

Mike, I have a yellow plug 87-88 turbo ECU in my car. If you want, I'll ship it to you so you can use it to diagnose your problems. I do need it back, though. I'll split the shipping with you. Just throw it in your car to see if it fixes your problem, considering you've done everything else. Shoot me a PM if you want.

Well, that's interesting. That's a JDM ECU P/N, according to the P/N's I have that another member sent me. Perhaps it's already been modified? Speed cut defender on there already, or internally modified would be my guess.

Shaef that is very kind but no need to do that. I will get one just to have as a spare anyway. Thanks again though
Alright. :) Let me know if anything changes and you want to give it a shot. My car's not going anywhere for a loooong time. LOL.

Weird, what makes yours different from all the other JDM ECU's then?
