I'm going to R compounds on the car; during road course turns, does the oil pan need to be modified to keep oil from slipping away from the oil pump pick-up? Van

If you're going to be doing a lot of road racing it would be a good idea to get some baffles installed in the pan. Make sure you run an extra quart too!

short answer yes. i currently only run additional wings that bring me capacity up to 7-8 quarts in the pan. i also reduced the clearance between the windage tray to the oil pan sides and added a crank scrapper. I will be adding baffles next time i drop the subframe

The oil pan is at Finish Line Coatings, getting ceramic coated, with an oil shedding coat inside and thermal heat dispersant outside. I'll see if Russ Meeks has a camara I can use at his shop, to put the modified pan online. He modified the oil pan, using the oil pan bulges from Speedway Motors, and added baffles.
I'm also planning to purchase the Ishi-J 7M crank scraper from SIP Racing. Van

I come from a land down under
Been running one quite a few years now, my car will pull just under 1g sustained and I've never had a bearing issue :)
(I was running a Group A Magnesium pan as well but I ran a stock pan for a few years without a failure thanks to the accumulator and +1Qt always)

hey Ian, is the extra quart ok even on a stock oiling system? well not stock, lowered oil pump pickup and shimmed internals w/ braided oil pump line but i doubt that'll make a difference. I thought too much oil in the crankcase would cause the oil to foam??

<nodding> +1 ALWAYS ;)

it's nowhere near the crank and good insurance.
