Does anyone make a torque converter adapter plate to mount a Powerglide to a 2JZ?

Im looking for a adapter to adapt torque converter to stock flywheel.

So far ive found ross machine billet flywheel (850.00 bucks) and replaces stock flywheel completely
also ive found atf transmissions makes a billet version for 950.00 which also replaces flywheel
i know dave henry (boostwerx) sells a complete kit w/ bolts, other adapter plate (which i have both already) and the adapter plate w/a simple steel flex plate sells the whole kit for 750.00, but all i need is the one adapter piece that attaches to crank snout. and of course he does not sell this piece seperate

Anyone else dealt with this, or know anyone who has

i have a 2jz tt , w/ 2spd powerglide setup. and looking at options for adapter plate, i really dont want to buy a extremely overpriced (more like not necessary billet flywheel) this is a simple street car, not crazy racecar.

Thank in advance everyone
Dan

Are you dead set on the powerglide? The reason I ask is because it's "a simple street car, not crazy racecar". Why not a TH350?

well first off the reason behind the transmission is because i had one. and also spares from my brother who has a purpose built racecar. And this will be driven to and from the track at times, but mostly a play thing on the street. If the future brings more dramatic changes the car will be READY to handle it, and NOT have to change to a different Transmission. I hate spending money twice, most of the time that doesnt work out in the end. Which is why i havent rushed into getting either of the flywheel setups. i know there are other options that work just as well, without having to spend the extra money to do so. I know i can get a machinist to make me one most likely prob somewhere in the 3-500 range. after getting the exact specs. What im trying to do is find someone who has already done these steps for me.

NOT to mention what will the th350 do for me, is it not the same process/problem, need the adapter plate to bolt ot motor, and need adapter plate to bolt to torque converter or am i missing somethingt

dan

PS not to mention i believe the th350 is physically bigger (which will not work in my application unless i cut the body more)
and basically all the other steps are already made for the car (brackets/mounts for trans, custom drive shaft, built trans etc)
no changin to something different now :)

YES that is one way of doing it, just like my first sentence says in this statement. ROSS machine sells a flywheel for 850.00 which is the exact link u posted.

i am looking for an adapter that bolts to snout , that bolts to torque converter, instead of that massive (expensive) flywheel style

THANK YOU VERY MUCH, if this works out, ill be tickled to death. saves quite a bit of money and gives me a nice part w/bolts and all

Thanks

ok that did not solve my problem, that was only a flywheel, which requires there custom torque converter, and its worthless without the rest of the kit. that link is poorly represented on summit, it is actually only the flexplate. which sucks becuase that really got my hopes up. ok people anyone else??
thanksa again in advance

Okay, well the adapter setup I have for my 2jz th400 truck goes as such:
toyota flexplate goes onto motor
the "adapter hub (basically a billet piece that sandwiches the toyota flexplate between the crankshaft and itself) bolts through the toyota flex plate
on the hub a second flexplate is bolted. (this flexplate will accept all dual pattern converters)
from there, the converter goes into the tranny as usual
And of course, this all uses one of those blue anodized bell housing adapters. The best part about this kit is, it enables me to use off the shelf converters for chevy's (my 3000 stall was $150!) and if I don't like it, I just buy a new one for peanuts!

Actually, after a quick search, I found my kit exactly! haha

I'm fairly certain that a glide and turbo series tranny share a bellhousing style.. but I'm not certain about the converter... I doubt it.

I hope this didn't confuse you! I'll subscribe to this thread to see your reply. Good luck!

yea dave H makes one too yes but he does not sell the adapter piece seperately, (hub adapter) , i already have the blue adapter plate (the one that bolts bell housing to engine block), i already have both flywheels (gm and stock 2jz) i just need the hub adapter. i know of a kit thats about 650.00 for complete kit. so i ll have alot of extra parts if i end up buying that kit. so im trying to find someone who has made the hub and willing to sell seperate.

PS did you end up sellin ur stuff in that post, or put the stuff to use???
