It's Not Important Bro
Since the first part of my suspension mods are in (Eibach and Tokico), the back "steps out" or "drifts" much easier. The weight is not being transferred to the outer wheel anymore but is more evenly distributed. This is cool since it makes my car much more predictable in tight turns. Once my sways are installed, it will be even better. But I dont plan to drift, just have fun every now and then.

There is drifting that the kids "call" drifting.

And then there's DRIFTING! HOLY CRAP! I just saw a video recently of some AMAZING drifting - dude is a pro. Dude was drifting around a guy on a segway that was moving forward the whole time. I wish I knew where I saw that video because it was INCREDIBLE!

To the actual drifters I say... WOW!

To the rest... YAWN!

If you're "drifting" on publc roads or open (not blocked off for a drifting practice or competition) parking lots... you're doing it wrong!

I enjoy kicking my rear end out once in a while, but as a few others have already said, I prefer grip driving (hence the build for the road course and not the drift course). Both require a lot of skill, but with grip driving you aren't breaking parts nearly as often (especially ripping off bumpers, destroying tires and diffs clutches). Besides, grip driving allows you to go around a course faster.

I'll kick the ass out every now and then when no cars are around on a certain road. It's usually late at night as well. Some late nights a friend with a 240 and I go to an empty subdivision where the road was cut about 4 years ago but no houses were ever built and attempt to drift. Its a little more fun when wet since its a little easier to break traction.

I definitely need to upgrade the swaybars.

I break the tires loose once in awhile for fun, N/A with 4.30 LSD rear, it slides in 2nd no problem. I wouldn't call it drifting though, Ive slid around a few parking lots and new subdivisions, there isn't a track around here thats open for amateurs so I dont really have that option.

So you must never see any jdm street drift videos... A few of those guys are waaaaaaaaay better than pro. They just drift for hobbies and dont always feel like taking it to the track or an open lot. an Open lot hasnt been a challenging corner for me sence the first day I started sliding.

drifting is cool... takes alot more skill and practice then everyone here thinks.

drift comps are awesome to watch because you can watch the whole thing, instead of watching one corner of a huge track.

I agree... I have had track cars for grip but I say slip over grip any day. And no matter how fast your car is it still takes skill to slide it, To me it dosnt take as much to hold the car stright down a 1/4 mi track. So I take my car sideways any chance I get. IDK maby its just me (Shhhhh...Im an old 240 owner lol)

I had an s13 hatch, on tiens, and strut bars, a few mods here and there (sleepy eyes included!) but for some reason I drive more mature and sane in my Supra...

Yeah some times at the start of the winter I'll like to kick it out a few times, but I get bored of that fairly quickly and that's pretty much the extent of my drifting.

(By the way, how much light are you putting in front of you with your headlights like that, or do they go up more? Never was sure how they worked...)

I spun out when I first got my turbo Supra...trying to make a left turn, gave it too much gas in 1st, the turbo spooled and I lost traction lol. I ended up facing the wrong direction in the middle of the road, luckily there was no traffic...

One car that is incredibly eager to drift and spin it's tires is my Mercedes 560SEC...even with an open diff, it can get scary...and you sill get sideways without even trying a lot of the time...after leaving the carwash (they put that tire shine stuff all over the tires) I did a 180* just trying to make a right turn out of the driveway. :O Torque is fun. :)
