Do Supra air filters restrict air flow when used with a Lexus AFM

I am wondering if air flow is restricted if a Lexus AFM is used with air filters whose adapters are not equal in area to the Lexus AFM honeycomb area? The whole purpose in going with the Lexus AFM is greater air flow and does this area mismatch negate some of this benefit? Most supra air filter adapters have openings that are smaller than the Lexus AFM honeycomb

Is there an air filter adapter that is matched to the Lexus AFM to give optimum air flow?

I know Supra air filter adapters bolt up, that is not the question, so don't mention it.

I searched and there was not a discussion that addressed this question. Let's talk.

I have the Apexi power intake and it seems to fit the lexus AFM pretty well.

I also know that when using some adapters that don't fit quite right it can cause weird issues with the car bucking.

Flow same. Velocity increased. Not a good thing...

simply order a cone/mushroom filter+ adapter for the lexus maf. i know injen makes one for the 92-94 sc400, im sure k&n and other also make one

you could also dremel out the 7m adapter to fit the lex properly aswell if you already have one.
