Do lowering springs wear out?

I'm looking at a set of Eibachs to drop the car a little bit... Is there any reason not to buy used ones? They havn't been used too much according to the seller, about a years worth of driving...

How long does it take for a set of springs to wear out?

id say ask for pics and ask for milage and ask how it was driven.
but i think the springs should last quite a while, stocks have lasted for 100+ miles i dont see why used ebach's couldn't last ne longer

Mileage is advertised at about 10k. I can't imagine them going bad but I wanted to make sure first.

they will be fine more than likely. all springs settle some when first installed so they should be fine as soon as installed.

Shouldn't have any problems with them. If the price is right, go for 'em.

the only spring's that will were out are none progressive rate springs (st srings a bell)

otehrthen that ti will take yeasr and yeasr for driven on progressive rate spring

:werd: My rear ST springs started saging about 4 yrs after I got them installed. Also while the front haven't started to sag it seams the spring rate has decreased dramaticly. So from my exprience springs do wear out. How hard they were driving on as well as the miles on them play a factor.

Steve, it isn't that springs themselves wear out, it actually depends on the brand. ST springs, according to many companies, start to sag after a few years, I haven't heard of this problem with any other MK3 spring.

Nor have I. I can't think of ever seeing a supras stock springs sag except on 4-runners & a cpl other SUV's but those are leaf springs. How about the decreased spring rate, is that common after 5+yrs?

progressive rate spring will not sag easy will take alot of time for them to ware out
lenior rate spring don't last long don't care who makes em

what spring is better lenori rate cause you car will be more perdicktabale instead of guess were you spring rate is at when you are in corner

My B&G progressively wound springs have sagged down, but I do not think they "wear out" in the true sense of the word.

They have become too low in my opinion however. (Time for coilovers and the abiltity to get some ride height and handling back.)
