DM oil sender hose

Well the line goes into a larger plug, so its not actually part of the block. If you dont use the line from driftmotion, you either dont have oil pressure reading, or you find somewhere else to put it. Like a sandwich plate on the oil filter housing.

There are other oil passages that would work. IJ had a picture floating around of where the oil/water passages were located on the exhaust side. I'm going to dig around for it.

I think it would just be easier to run the 7M sending unit on the exhaust side, especially if you are getting the harness extended, it would not be too much of a hassle.

so it only goes in a couple of turns and then you tighten it until it stops even though it feels like its gonna mess up the threads on the block? whats the alternative if you don't use the line from driftmotion?

i put the factory 2jz or 1jz sensor in the hole... Get a oil filter adapter plate and then put the 7M sensor in the port on the side of the sandwhich plate

I have a DM stainless adapter line and a new 7M sender. I already have my 1JZ in the car with the AC compressor and radiator all hooked up. I didn't realize at the time how difficult it would be to get the DM line onto the block with the motor and such already in the car. Would it be easier for me to just get one of these "sandwhich" plates and put the sender on it? Also, does a wire connect to the sender or does a separate wire communicate to the ECU?

I would just remove the ac while you put it in. Doing a sandwhich plate will be just as, if not more difficult with your engine in-car.

Yes, I was asking if a wire connects to the sender, and then where the other end of the wire that connects to the sender goes. It just doesn't look like there is any connection on the sender itself for an electrical wire, that is where I'm confused. So the wire connects to the little metal disc on top of the sender then?

Appears to be like the oil sender in my Mk2, a 6m. If so, then there should be a wire with a connector that attaches to the little disc part of the sender you have circled in the picture above.

This kind of connector, connects to the top of the sender. And the wire would lead through the engine harness, to a connector in the ECU area. Eventually going to the dash.

Thanks guys! mkiiichip, wheres a good place to pick one of those connectors up from? So the wire should already exist on my 1JZ harness then? And obviously, since my US 7MGTE has an oil pressure guage, I need to find where that wire goes to from the dash and splice that to my wire coming from the pressure sender, correct?

ok so laughing is permitted. I put teflon on the DM sender hose before I cranked it into the block. I stopped trying to twist in in because my wrench started rounding the corners. What should I do? Remove the whole thing and use locktite? Leave it in and hope it doesn't leak?

There is no sealant needed on tapered threads (although some liquid sealer can add some peace of mind, leave the teflon tape for the plumbers), use a good quality line wrench to tighten the line, and it will seal how its designed to seal.
