DM HID kit Vs Truck-lite LED

Anyone have Driftmotions HID kit on their Supra? Curious about the cutoff and how bad the glare is...I'm considering them vs the Truck-lite LED set up.

Driftmotion's kit http://www.driftmotion.com/category-s/1921.htm

Truck-lite's http://www.truck-lite.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&productId=92027

I do know with the Truck-lite LED setup that I'll probably have to rewire the fogs due to voltage/amperage loss...The DM HID kit comes with a wiring harness for full voltage to the lights.
The Truck-lites are made in the USA and DOT legal vs the HID setup. I just don't want to be that idiot that drops HIDs in and blinds everyone!
JW Speaker makes a set of 5x7s but they are retardedly expensive.

Please let me know your thoughts, experiences and opinions!

With the DM kit you are going to be that idiot. There isn't going to be a cutoff with them, just light everywhere. HIDs in a halogen projector just don't work well. Sorry...

Only real solution is a projector retrofit or the Truck-Lite LEDs.

Unfortunately, as much as Aaron says that the cutoff is good, I just can't see it being anything but glaring. I know that the LED setup will require a rewire of the fogs...they won't even turn on, when you hit the fog switch, the high beams come on but still no fogs.

Rewiring the fogs is straightforward. Just requires some work in the left kick panel. The high beam indicator light won't work as well, and that requires some relays added to the headlight circuit. I have to agree though, that the LED solution is the only one that makes sense. The HIDs are a kludge in that reflector, and the trend is to LEDs anyway.

This is my 6th Mk3...this one is a 92. Done the rewire many times but the thought of hacking up the wiring on this one doesn't sit well for me. I'll probably pull the pin rather than cut the wire on the switch. Just picked up a set locally and will put them in tonight. Thanks for your input!

You sure that the fogs won't even turn on?

On mine after the projector retrofit the fog lights still work, but when you turn on the high beams the high beams are stuck on until you turn the fog lights off.

I haven't rewired my fogs either because I don't like cutting into my stock wiring harness either.

Just put them in. Fog light switch off..Lights work like normal with control from the stalk. No hi-beam indicator light like Pi said. Turn fogs on..low beam and high beam both come on, no control from stalk to turn the highs off but no fogs either...Minor issue.
Other than that, WOW. Not HID bright but loads better than the sealed candle powered lamps! I like them and going to keep 'em!

I've seen the JW's on a friends Jeep. Nice, bright and pricey but not DOT legal. The Truck-lite's have a wider pattern(I live where there are a lot of deer so I like to see the sides of the roads as well as down them). I like 'em so far.
