and if it is how high a priority should it be??If you're upgrading your car for more power, it helps a lot.
What kind of gain are we looking at here? That's going to depend on your turbo and exhaust, but it does help.
How loud is it going to be?The divorced dp is loud. Really really loud. You either love it or hate it. The recirculated isn't as loud.
If you haveone what have your experiences been??I had one and loved it. I sold it when I sold my 7mgte.

Thanks alot im still kinda new
theres nothing wrong with being new, but this subject has been covered hundreds of times already.

Look at the very bottom of this page. Those are all threads about this subject. Good luck.

DDP is very loud since the car is basically open header through the wastegate dump tube when the car gets near the desired boost level. I have had my BIC DDP installed for about a month now and it can easily scare pedestrians/other motorists etc.

As for performance benefits BIC did some dyno testing showing an extra 29 or so horsepower in back to back testing with their standard 3" dp at (i believe) ten psi of boost on a stock Ct26 with some other mild mods. I noticed the car spools quite a bit quicker and definitely pulls harder.

I am still unsure if I would go with the vented DDP again or go with a re-routed DDP. If you like to get into boost a lot I could see it being a problem with the Po-po's. I am really surprised I haven't been pulled over with it and my straight pipe exhaust yet.

my question is who the hell has bought one of the chinaman ones from 935. i like how they are re-circulated and have a flex section. but there doesn't seem to be any threads talking about how they fit and work. i'm going to get one once my old dp is done from scraping so much. the bic is just too much for a dp if you ask me. after getting it re-circulated and the flex section installed it $451 w/o shipping. :aigo:

I love mine (when the car is on the road)! It takes some getting used to, but as mentioned by Dave, quicker spool and it pulls hard! I picked up a used one here on the forum for less than $300 shipped.

I've got one. The fit isn't perfect where it mounts to the turbine exhaust on the turbo, and I've got to do some cutting on my turbo heat shield to get it there cleanly. But the overall quality is good for the price, and as a recirc it won't be as loud as the open-vent styles.

Brandon it looks great. i like how tuck up it is. hows the boost creep if any? have you had any problems with leaks at the flanges? other than that i can't see why not to get one. lol.

The BIC DP's are hand made in my shop, they are garranteed to fit, no drilling this, modify that and machining the flange flat or any BS like this. Just bolt it on and smile :). Some people like to buy quality time proven products, what happens if you have a problem or tech question, will the "china man" help you out ?......Support your USA / Canada made products, or soon there wont be any more!!!

BTW I have seen one of the "replicas" and I was horrified of the thing they made it into. The flex section is right at the lowest point, so if you drag over a speed bump thats the first thing to hit, and will wear though over time, the flange wasnt even close to flat, and the bolt holes were wrong, and worst of all was the divider plate, it was anywhere between 1/8" and 1/32" thick (on the single piece!!) it was wavy, and in no way would seal on the turbine housing and it was essentially tack welded on. Sorry no thanks. The only benifit is that it is stainless, well sort of, it is the very lowest grade is stainless steel, go ahead and stick a magnet on it.....real SS is not magnetic.

I'm with Randy on this. The BIC DDP is damn quiet until the wastegate opens, fits like a dream, and no issues with cracking. Hell, the fit is so damn perfect I have it bolted on without any gaskets, and it's still perfectly sealed.

Got and installed mine a couple weeks ago and LOVE it. Fits perfect, install is easy (aside from that one bolt.. you all know what I'm talking about [but that goes for all dp installs]), and sounds amazing. Going from all stock exhaust to open Bic DDP is a huge difference. It drives in the lower RPMs much easier and without any complaints, and really lets er eat when I step on it :).

Randy is right, his product is of a higher quality. He made it, so if there was ever an issue you can deal with him directly.

With you being in Canada as well, it is a no brainer.

put mine on last week, HUGE difference in spool city driving, much easier to drive, and i think it gets better mpg as well. its pretty uiet but i think mine is a knockoff as i can hear the exhaust from the dump a lil wit the wg closed but when it opens... DAAAAAAAAAMN sounds sooo nice. and pulls so much better. its so worth it for a DDP in my opinion.

I'm going to have correct you on the stainless steel comment....I can think of 8 different stainless steels off the top of my head....some stainless steel has carbon in it which causes rust, the more carbon the harder the metal....carbon also sucks for welding....it's not that it isn't real stainless or cheap stainless....it's the wrong stainless for the application....it's probably why china man headers snap welds also as the welding process hardends the metal to the point of being brittle cause of the carbon content...

Example...cheap stainless blade knives don't rust but the also don't hold an edge....real expensive knives generally will rust cause higher carbon metal holds an edge much better....kabar comes to
Mind which is why they are oxidized to help prevent rusting.

It's not that it's "not real" stainless steel, it's just that it's probably 409 stainless steel, the cheaper and crappier kind :)

So basiclly.. go with the BIC ddp?

if your comfortable with the price. if you want one that will work 99% the same, get one from 935, that way if there is a problem, he'll handle it like the business man he is.

Personally, i plan to get one from a site i found and they have them for $200shipped... i even emailed to be sure it was legit and it was a divorced downpipe.

Yes. I <3 my BIC DDP. Besides, you'll be supporting the guy who made it commercially available to the Supra community. Randy's service is great, his products are absolutely fantastic, and shipping all the way to NY is even quick! :) Well worth every penny.

Hey, remember what happened to Greddy? Yeah, lets not let that happen to Randy @ BIC. Support the little guys, the ones who CARE about us.
