Divorced Down Pipes

I've heard and read it's better to get the flex section because there is less stress on the turbo when things expand and contact from heating and cooling. The kind of sound I want is the turbo spool and it seems that if I go with the vented DDP the turbo spool sound would be overwhelmed by the wastegate at WOT but if it's not that bad then I'll go with a vented DDP and save the extra money.

ive been running an ebay style ddp for about 5 years now that already had the divider tab, flex section and recirculated (i like the area it recirculated back compared to the bic dp but don't know if it really affected anything)

if i was to get another ddp i would go with bic or raptor racing

i also had another bung welded in for my wideband in the area right before the flex section and kept the other one capped

i got one in 2006 (or was it 05?) not re-circulated w/ no flex section. perfect fit.

Same setup here but with their test pipe as well, perfect fit. It also has the divider that sticks in the turbo to divide wastegate and turbine gases all the ebay ones I've seen don't have one.

Y'know those rubber motor mounts? They let the engine move about a bit. More so than the rubber hangers for the exhaust do anyway. Also, if your exhaust hits a speedbump, I'd rather that the flex section of the downpipe take the hit than have the turbo take it on the chin (And pass that on to the exhaust manifold/head.)

But that's just me.

Well most of my friends have V8s like one has a 400+hp GTO, one has an SC400, one has an SC300, one has an SC300 with a 2jz vvti, so I would need a lot of mods to keep up with them lol.

i have a bic ddp. the sound at full boost is insane. the only issue with mine is that it's really close to the tranns in one spot. actually it also sits really low and scrapes on big bumps sometimes too. i still love it. :)

I ordered mine; Randy is still making them, with a 4-6 week lead time.
I understand that with less back pressure in the exhaust, I may get better gas mileage... Nah!

I personally like going down to the strip at the oceanfront, and opening the wastegate for just a split second, just long enough to confuse the hell out of everyone

Yea I was pretty much going to avoid ebay stuff unless someone knew of a seller that had good parts but I was pretty much dead set on BIC Performance.

haha, my car sets them off at low revs in parking lots.

fwiw I have Driftmotion's bellmouth downpipe, quality is very nice and fitment is perfect.
