the internals are different too. I found this out the hardway when my 89s went out and I tried to use the 86.5's to get it home, only to realize it's completely different inside and the plugs are different as well...

I have a cressida 92 dizzy from a grey plug ecu if I was to change the plug to suit yellow plug ecu will it work with my 88 yellow plug ecu>?

Care to elaborate on the differences in internals? A few people on here and elsewhere claim to have adapted the wiring to accept a dizzy of a different vintage, as the case may be. Just given what I recall I can't imagine anything that was changed enough to prevent swapping... the 86.5 could be an oddball. Did we talk about this at some point?

I'm not sure what Razoe's referring to. I posted pics and wire colors in another thread for someone who needed to do what you're wanting to do and everything seemed fine. It was quite a while ago, so you're going to have to search a bit.

well, the plugs didn't match up. I no longer have that engine in my 89 and the 86.5 is at my girlfriend's brother's house for the moment...

I'll see what I can do with the 92s, maybe snap a few pics of it..
