Help me out guys. I have a disconnected hose that goes right to the general area of a hard line that is plugged off. This hard line goes up to the intake manifold. Heres's a pic and I circled the problem out. The disconnected hose runs down and in front of the lower part of the cam cover, and heads over to the water pump area. Obviously I'd like to figure out what is up so plz help me out. I have TSRM searched and googled hose routing for the 7mgte...but cant find the hose in question.

good question...that's why I posted up. I'm not sure what the disconnect hose does, or where it goes or comes from.

its a vac line.. goes the the hard line that is capped off for some reason.. everything is totally stock right? did u cap it off? or u bought it liek this?

I bought the car with it capped off like that. I just went out and started the car and pulled off the cap, and the yes there is noticeable vacuum and the idle went up. The hose however that I was talking about (right next to the plugged off hardline) I can't tell where it goes, other than directly under the water pump...from there it heads out of site. The charcoal canister lines I don't believe are in the equation. 1 goes of course to the sensor where the thermostat is, the other goes to the firewall, over to the driver-side engine bay, then down under the car and towards the rear where the fuel tank is. So where does my disconnect hose go ? Kevin I know you said plug it up to the hardline...but I would like to know where the hose originates from first.

Power steering idle up line. It needs to be capped when not in use to prevent pirate air from entering the intake manifold. Normally connected to that hard line using a short hose.

Line goes to a vacuum valve (on the PS pump) that senses hydraulic pressure in the power steering. Loading the steering makes the valve open, allowing metered air from the accordion hose to bypass the throttle plate and go directly into the intake manifold. The resulting increase in idle speed further increases hydraulic pressure and thus decreases steering effort. Neat no?

Disconnected? Follow the line towards the PS pump and accordian hose to find out why...

This makes perfect sense...because my power steering actually squeals if I am sitting still...unless I give the car a little gas. Thanx man
